I used the 3 step system as a teenager and loved it because the toner fought acne and the moisturizer was rich enough for young skin. But as I got older, I found this became less effective. There are no anti-aging components in the cream, and the toner is mostly alcohol which started to dry out my older skin. The soap is also a little harsh and left residue.

it really really helps with the acne and all the ugly zits but makes the skin super super dry and tight, at least it did that to mine. I stopped using it after a week coz even the skin around my eyes were tight so I found it hard to keep my eyes open lol so its really not worth it, I would rather live with the zits that use this.

This did not work for me. I have combination skin and bought step 2. I used it for a month and there was no discernible difference. This pretty much follows the 3 basic steps for skin care: cleaning, exfoliating, and moisturizing.

Step 1 is a mild face soap for cleaning: The face soap is the best thing out of the three. It's mild and cleans like it's supposed to do. Doesn't have a strong smell, and lathers well.

Step 2 is the clarifying lotion which is supposed to exfoliate: This contains alcohol which evaporates quickly giving you a nice cooling sensation on your face. The alcohol probably kills the bacteria and might reduce break outs for some people. I'm not too fond of it myself. My eyes are pretty sensitive, so when ever I put the lotion within one inch of my eye it starts to burn/sting from the alcohol vapor. The lotion is a liquid so I don't feel that it works very well at exfoliating, a face scrub would be better.

Step 3 is moisturizing: I had the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. It DOES absorbs into the skin quickly, but does NOT work for my skin type. It made my T-zone look oilier, it works on my cheeks for a while but after 15 minutes the skin on my cheek became dry and flaky again.

I would buy the soap and skip the other two.
Just look for a good face scrub to exfoliate, and a lotion for oily skin or a cream for dry skin to moisturize.

This cleanser is why too pricey for it is worth. I found it extremely drying and it didn't do anything that a drugstore cleanser couldn't do. I would not recommend this product, especially if you're on a budget.

I bought the 3 step system, tried it for 2 weeks and had no results. I tried this after deciding that Proactiv didn't work for me. I have met one person that uses this and it cleared up her skin completely but it didn't work for me to clear up my skin. The bottles are nice and it feels good but I returned it after about 2 weeks.

I bought the whole three-step system about two months ago, because I had a ton of pimples and blackheads that were bothering me like crrrrrazy. I'm a skin type 2 - dry combination. At first I thought I'd been totally ripped off - why weren't there some kind of immediate results? After a while I started to love it though, and lately it's not been doing much like before for me. Now my skin just looks... fine. I still have pimples, kind of oily skin, and blackheads. So it's okay but not like a miracle. I wouldn't really recommend it.

I found the clinique toner to be no better or worse than any other I'd tried on the market. It was the one step in the 3 step system that I could take or leave.

Clinque works at first then afterwards it stops working. This probably depends on your skin type. I bought all the things the lady at the counter advised and I found that it stressed my face out like crazy, I felt so heavy like there was a load of stuff on my face. After not using anything to wash my face for a week I found out that my skin could feel so light. But yeah, this stops working and I ended up trying something else.

I have very oily skin. After trying numerous products, Clinique's cleanser is the only one that seems to work well, and the moisturizing gel is very nice and light.
