Lovely Lantern

When trying to open the lantern we ripped it a little bit but nothing to serious. She was happy to have a craft and loved that it came with everything but a flickering battery operated candle to light up the lantern when finished painting. It was a fun project to pass some time.

Creative DIY Decor

This was an excellent activity to be creative and keep for room decor. My child loved the chance to use her imagination and also be inspired by the art examples on the box. The lamp was a little smaller than I’d imagined, but a good size so that younger artists don’t lose interest while painting. I’d be interested in similar toys from Spin Master.

Love It!!

The quality of the toy is not too bad…My Daughter was very excited to interact with the lantern…she loved painting it…she was able to use her creativity to make it look the way she wanted…I definitely would love additional toys from Spin Master…I love that we were able to try it for free…

Creative craft for young kids

My 5 year old daughter was super excited when we received the Cool Maker Lovely Lantern Painting Kit in the mail to review. The product does suggest for ages 6+ but other than assembling the lantern, I would say this product could be used younger. The assembling of the lantern was a bit tricky, even though it is just a piece that goes through the center of the lantern. It pushed through too far and we ended up tearing the lantern. That is why we did not give it 5 stars. We were able to fix the broken part of the lantern with tape though. But other than that, it was a good product and my daughter had a lot of fun painting it and designing it. She said she painted a beautiful sunset on her lantern. It would make a great birthday to gift.

Simple empowering art project for young artists!

My artsy daughter loved the Cool Maker Lovely Lantern Painting Kit - it was a perfect art project for her to tackle all on her own! It wasn't super complex and can be completed in around an hour's time. The paint provided was just enough for her creativity, and she was able to paint freehand. At first, I was hesitant and thought it may be a bit too intricate (being a paper lantern) for her to manage on her own, but I am super proud that she was able to complete this project on her own. It makes me confident that she can enjoy other Cool Maker art projects.

Cute, simple lantern

This is a cute product that would make a great gift or even as a party favour or activty at a birthday party. It includes a paintbrush and a row of 5 paints in bright colours. I'm not sure whether there'd be enough paint to match the vibrancy of the main background colour on the example on the box. The lantern wasn't too big; about 6 inches in diameter. The quality seems pretty on par with other paper lanterns out there. Notably, there was no string included or some way to hang it afterwards. The only thing I wish is that there was some way to recycle the paint pots. I understand the convenience of including them in the box except I find that with items like these that come with paint, the leftover paint doesn't end up getting used and the pots get thrown out, making it a single use plastic. It would be great if they could come up with a more environmentally friendly alternative to hold the paint! In the end, my daughter enjoyed using this product as would any other budding artist! I received this item for free from Butterly in exchange for my honest review.

Fun and easy activity for the kids

This lantern kit kept my kid busy for about 20 mins. It’s pretty sturdy lantern even though it’s still paper and delicate. I would’ve liked it to have included a tiny battery powered led light or stick to hang the lantern from but luckily we had those at home already so it was fine. This was fun for the kids.

Fun day in

Snowy day vibes = perfect for crafting! Veronica and I grabbed the Cool Maker Lovely Lantern Painting Kit from Spin Master, and it’s just too cute. With 5 fun colours to mix and match we spent the afternoon painting our own lanterns and bringing a little colour to this chilly winter day.
Now our room has the cutest DIY glow!
