My fabulous friend over at CURLS sent me a sample bottle of Curl Gel-les'c, a serum-like gel curl styler, because they felt it would work great for my fine hair. My hair doesn't seem to like gels so I was eager to try this unique lightweight, organic product.

    Products Description:

It isn’t a gel, and not quite a serum. It’s Curl Gel-les’c (pronounced Curl Jealousy). This botanically based organic curl styler imparts brilliant sheen, banishes frizz, and holds those twirls in place! Transform dry frizzy locks into the enviable curls that every woman dreams of, with Curl Gel-les’c. Go ahead; your curls deserve it!

    Price:

    $20-27

    Where to Purchase:

The CURLS website, Curlmart.com, Naturallycurly.com, Amazon, Ebay and some local beauty supply stores

    Application:

Day #1 - Apply Curl Gel-les'c to freshly cleansed/conditioned hair, while it is still wet. Gently work through curls from root to end. Allow to air dry. Day #2 - Refresh with Quenched Curls Moisturizer, apply Curl Gel-les'c only as needed.

    Ingredients:

Purified Water, Polyquaternium-11, Sorbitol, Certified Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Polyquaternium-37, Vegetable Glycerin, Certified Organic Coconut Milk ( Cocos Nucifera Fruit Juice), Certified Organic Linden Seed Oil ( Tilia Cordata Flower Extract), Certified Organic Flaxseed Oil ( Linum Usitatissimum Seed Oil, Certified Organic Chamoile Extract (Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract) Certified Organic Rosemary Extract (Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract), Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol

    My Experience:

Being the hard headed person I am, I didn't even attempt to follow the directions for application. I have a pretty great routine and order of products that my hair loves so I simply fit this in where it made most sense. After my standard co-wash and deep treatment, I leave in just a little bit of Herbal Essence Hello Hydration, part my hair in 4 sections, apply African Royale Hot Six Oil to each section and then applied Curl Gel-les'c. And then scrunched my hair and let it dry.

    Products Features:

The serum-like consistency makes it easier and less messy to apply than a regular gel
Light and won't weigh down the hair or cause it to be crunchy or hard..Most gels give me the Jheri..lol
    Hair dries less frizzy
Curls are defined, soft, bouncy and shiny
Has coconut in it, which my hair (or hair period) loves
Weather-proofs hair..If you frizz up as often as I do, this is a big plus.
Ingredients are amazing. The ingredients are almost a list of things that work great with my fine, looser curled hair.

    The Downside:
It felt a little silicone-y..Though I did't see any on the label, I felt like I had them in my hair.
has NO hold so it won't hold your baby hair in place or retain some styles that require some type of flexible hold.

I definitely say GLAM IT! I think this product will fit in well with my arsenal of products. Most days, I wear a wash-n-go or a ponytail so I don't prefer any hold. I would definitely recommend this to my fine haired, 2B-3C textured divas. I've only used it a few times and always with the same routine of products but I will be experimenting more with it soon since I'm changing up a few things to account for the warmer weather
