I buy McCain TastiTaters twice a year, to use in the hashbrown casserole I make for my workplace and for my Boxing Day brunch. Mixed with ham, eggs, cheddar, and onions among some spices and sour cream, I never have any leftovers.
I always stick with the McCain brand as the no-name brands tend to get soggy in the casserole. McCain Tasti Taters taste great and stay crispy.
Now that I have a child of my own I can see them making the occasional appearance at the dinner table. I only wish the packaging was resealable.
I had completely forgotten how good the McCain Tasti Taters are! I found myself staring at the bag in the grocery store a few days ago, caved, and picked them up for supper. I love the crisp outer coating of the taters and the soft, potato filling. They were a definite treat on a winter evening. As for preparation, there essentially is none: cut the bag open, dump on cookie tray, and stick in oven. Super easy. Definitely a nice comforting treat!
Love tasti taters!!! They are the outside but soft on the inside which melts in your mouth. They are a huge favourite with the kids. Price is a little high for the amount you get. I always bake them in oven as I find they're too oily when they are fried
Breakfast has never been so fun. I love hashbrowns with my eggs and bacon, and I've only ever gone for the wide flat ones...but tater tots are the best alternative EVER! They come out crispy and soft and taste delicious!
McCain's tasti taters are awesome. I like these dipped in ketchup or a spicy mayo. These are a little more hash brown like in the centre and I really enjoy eating these along with eggs, fruit and toast on the weekend. A great side or snack! Nice and crispy exterior.
Not as high on my list as the Smiley Faces, but they do go a lot further. Great as a replacement for standard fries, and always perfect right out of the oven. On a friend's advice I even tried them in the toaster oven and although they're not as good, they do crisp up just as nicely.
My children love McCain Tasti Taters. They would much rather eat these them french fries. I myself also love them. They are flavorful, not greasy, and firm. I sometimes even use these in recipes like tater tot casserole
I like these so much that I actually like to eat them while they are still frozen - you saw that right, I will eat them straight out of the bag as a frozen treat! They are good baked in my toaster oven too, with a smattering of ketchup. The only bad thing I can say about them is that my grocery store runs out of them very fast when they go on sale!
