Interesting formula helped makeup stay put

The jelly primer was such an interesting formula! I wasn't sure what to make of it but I wound up really liking it with makeup. Sometimes I use a primer on its own but this isn't one of those. It does go a bit tacky and that really helped to keep the foundation in place, but that means that it's not great to wear without makeup on top. It was also a bit hard to gauge how much to use and it was hard to get out an exact amount using your fingers because of the consistency. Using a silicone scoop made getting out the right amount of product easier.

A primer that works!

I am happy to report that I have been using this NYX Jelly Primer for the last few weeks and I love it! A small amount goes a long way, so the jar will last for quite some time. I have been using this primer after a small amount of facial moisturizer, then I apply my foundation, if needed. It provides moisture to my skin and cancels out any pores and imperfections in the texture of my facial skin. My makeup doesn't move and it continues to look fresh all day! It also does not allow my makeup to settle into pores or fine lines, it almost fills them in instead. I have semi-sensitive skin and it has not made me breakout. An amazing hydrating primmer!!

I received this from the product review Club. all reviews are my own opinion. I really love this face primer because unlike other hydrating primer’s, it leaves my face feeling dry once the product has absorbed. Most face primers that are hydrating usually leave a sort of wet feeling at the end, which is OK if that’s what you’re looking for but typically I’m looking for more of a matte look. J’adore la texture de ce gel et le plus important, c’est qu’il n’est pas du tout collant! C’est maintenant un incontournable dans ma préparation!

hmm, not for me.

i wanted to like this soo much but it was simply too "hydrating" for me. i would prefer a stickier mattifying primer.That being said this is the one product i cant give a proper review on because i do not use these types of primers.

Has a fun texture AND works!

The texture alone is cool enough to make me love it, but what I didn't expect was for this primer to work as well as it did! It didn’t pill upon application and had a very cool, bouncy texture that smoothed out instantly on contact with skin. Though you feel like you are removing a fairly solid chunk of primer from the jar, the texture reconstitutes itself so that the product in the jar looks perfect and clear each time! This functioned just as well as some of my other high end primers and didn't feel heavy on the skin. If you enjoy makeup, the jelly factor alone will make you very happy!

I got this product for free in exchange for an honest review. I really love the texture of the product, it’s like jelly and it feels so good on my face. It’s also very hydrating so it’ll be a good fit for my winter makeup.

Love this primer!

I absolutely love this primer! It is very hydrating and gives my face a smooth, soft base for makeup application, and makes my foundation look so good! It's also a little tacky which, I think, helps with my foundation application.

This primer literally looks like clear Jell-O but changes to a weird Jello-O-mousse consistency when you apply it. Plus you don't need much to cover your face - a little goes a long way! It's also scent-free, which is great for those with sensitive skin.

I have oily skin and this primer doesn't help with it but it doesn't claim to. I usually apply a mattifying primer or translucent powder on areas where I get oily to combat this. This primer also doesn't claim to keep your makeup on for long hours. My makeup tends to start breaking up after 8-10h. Despite these cons, I really love this primer because it gives my foundation such a natural finish and it leaves my skin so smooth and soft.

Overall, I really enjoy this primer!

It was my first time to try NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKE UP BARE WITH ME HYDRATING GELLY PRIMER and it took me a few times to get used to it. It has a jelly consistency without the stickiness and smell. It blends well to the skin leaving it smooth and ready for any kind of make up. It comes with a light pink plastic container but I wish it’s in a glass container. I like the cover inside the container itself to keep it fresh and well sealed. In the photo, I was one of the bridesmaids on my friend’s wedding and I’m wearing it from 8 o’clock in the morning and my make up was still impeccable till nighttime. I also used NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKE UP BARE WITH ME TINTED SKIN VEIL over this jelly primer and NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKE UP BARE WITH ME PRIME. SET. REFRESH. MULTITASKING SPRAY and it kept my makeup looking natural and fresh for long hours. I strongly recommend it.

A very pleasant surprise

Just like others, I was very pleasantly surprised with this product, mainly because of the texture.
Unlike other primers which come in liquid or cream, this one has the consistency of non-leaky jell-o. Once you put it on your skin, it spreads quite well and becomes more liquid like. It is hydrating, and does a great job of smoothing out your skin which makes applying foundation a breeze and you might even be able to skip out on the concealer! Once it dries, it does continue to have a slightly sticky feeling for another 15-20 minutes or so, but afterwards it's fully dry. If you are applying foundation, you can do so while it's still a little sticky and it makes no difference.
The product can be worn alone as a hydrating veil of sort, but I find that the finish is a little too shiny for my liking.
What I liked about it is that my foundation seemed to not only stay well, but also apply more evenly. I found that some primers increase the extent to which makeup can cake, but I have not had that issue with this one. The primer itself goes on nicely, doesn't peel or cake either.

The only downsides I can think of is that this primer is a little pricier than other products for this job, but a little of it goes a long way which is why I would still recommend you go with it over other products. I do believe though, that there should be an applicator that comes with it. Because you need very little of it for the whole face (I mean it, a tiny bit of it is enough for your whole face) you'll be sticking your fingers in it over many days, so wash your hands. Since the jelly itself isn't sticky, it's easy to drop bits of it as you bring it up to your face.

To conclude - it does the job and it does it well. The texture was a new experience that left my face feeling refreshed and hydrated, and provided a smooth surface to apply makeup onto. My makeup lasted the whole day and it didn't cake. Getting the hang of applying it and doing so in the right amounts might take a couple of tries, but again, use a tiny amount, it really goes a long way!
