It's a good alternative but
I really like the concept of having a vegan kebab for those who didn't eat meat. I do prefer no meat days and love to eat this on those days but taste wise it doesn't come anywhere close to a neat kebab. But i love how it's gluten free and cholesterol free to and it's so easy to make. I like to eat this as a snack instead of a full meal.
I will totally recommend this if you can't eat meat

Very similar in taste/texture to real sausage
I was nervous to try the Jackfruit Kebabs because the packaging didn't mention the taste and the cooking instructions were a little vague. The Pan and Grill instructions are listed together, and it mentions needing a Tablespoon of oil to pan fry, but no indication of how long or what temperature, like high medium or low. I'm no stranger to winging it in the kitchen though, so I decided to pan-fry at medium heat and cooked each side until it was golden all over. The kebabs also don't come with skewers which surprised me, because the package showed skewers but didn't mention needing to supply your own. They did however, have holes in the kebabs meant for skewers. Fortunately for me, I had some of my own skewers and used those.
I was pleasantly surprised by how flavourful these kebabs were, and how similar they were in taste and texture to a sausage. I will. note that these kebabs were a medium spicy, which would have been nice to have listed on the packaging somewhere. I personally don't mind some spice, but everyone has different heat tolerances and that can definitely surprise or throw off someone who expected the product to be mild or wants to feed a picky child.
I served my kebabs with some seasoned rice and it made an excellent weeknight dinner. Overall, I did enjoy these kebabs, and could imagine using them in more versatile ways like crumbling the jackfruit 'meat' on a pizza or serving it as a 'breakfast sausage'.

Very tasty and easy to serve
I made these kebabs for a quick work from home lunch. I heated them up with oil and fried them up. Lunch was ready in under 10 minutes and was super flavourful! I like that the kebabs had a bit of spice to it and a kick. Paired very well with a garlic yogurt sauce and on a salad. The only thing I would say is it's only 4g of protein for 2 of these which isn't very much so you would have to have lentils (which is what I had) or tofu on the side

Great Kebab Alternative
You definitely would fool me. If you told me they were made out of jackfruit. These kebabs are very flavourful and super easy to cook in my air fryer. Had it with a salad and some tzatziki sauce and definitely will be sharing this with my dad who has gout and doesn’t eat a lot of red meat!

Reminiscent of Meat, but could be more flavourful
As a vegan kebab, this was pretty good and did have a texture that was reminiscent of meat. We roasted it on the barbecue and we enjoyed it as an appetizer. I feel that it can still be a bit more flavourful though, so that's an area to improve on.

Vegan Kebabs Yum
Tried the *Plantropy Jackfruit Kebab* recently and honestly… I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did! The taste totally surprised me and my family. No, it doesn’t taste exactly like a meat kebab—and it’s not meant to—but it’s a *really tasty plant-based option* that adds flavour and variety to meatless meals.
What I appreciated most was the *clean ingredients*: zero cholesterol, no trans fat, and free from soy, gluten, sugar, and sulphites. It’s also *rich in fibre*, which is a big plus for me when planning balanced meals.
We pan-fried them the first time and had them with salad and hummus, then got creative and used them as a pizza topping the next day—so versatile and easy to use!
If you’re looking for something new to try this BBQ season or just want to switch things up for meatless Mondays, definitely check these out. You can find *Plantropy* at Zehrs, Real Canadian Superstore, and Goodness Me!
So glad we gave them a try—definitely adding these to our regular rotation!

My thoughts:
I thought the jackfruit kebabs tasted great! They were full of flavour that added a nice kick to my dish. The texture was really nice and very similar to eating a meat sausage. I honestly I would not have known that I was eating a fully vegan product. I added it to my stir fry and it blended in perfectly.
I like that it is a frozen vegan product that it's easy to cook up on the spot without much preparation. I found the cooking instructions on the packaging to be not that detailed. For instance, it didn't say at what temperature to cook the kebab at, but it was easy to figure out. The name and packaging was a bit misleading because it was not actually on a stick or in kebab format. It looked more like a sausage.
Overall, the jackfruit kebab tasted great, and I would definitely get it again!

Vegetarian appetizer
Sunshine, family and the BBQ, it doesn’t get much better than that. @plantropylife jackfruit kebabs are a great vegetarian appetizer. They are gluten free, high in fibre and healthy. Theo gave them his thumbs up approval. We all found them a little bit spicy and weren’t a fan of a texture but they make a great plant based option.

Plesantly Surprised
I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and texture of these kebabs, although I think the packaging should give a warning or spice level. I was not expecting them to be spicy, which I didn't mind but there should definitely be a note on the package. The texture was great and the seasoning gave a really great taste that could be served up in many different dishes and cuisines. I enjoyed them just on the side of a salad but think they'd be great on pita with onion and tomatoes and garlic sauce.
