This was received for free for trial.
While I liked the heady scent of rose and the surprising scent of pepper, I did not like the soft texture of the product. It felt like too much product was being applied even when I merely swiped at my underarms. I have super sensitive skin and react almost instantly with typical deodorants but I did not have any issues with this one.

I may try this brand again but maybe if there was a gel option.

Strong floral deodorant with great protection

First thing that caught my attention about the deodorant was the strong scent. It a bit too strong for my nose however I appreciated that was more scent instead of less. I use natural deodorants and was really excited about this one. The big faux pas was the deodorant marks on all my clothing which my regular natural deodorant does not leave. Overall felt protected but would be wary purchasing again with such big deodorant stains.

Decent for a natural deodorant, but doesn't go on

Schmidt's Rose + Black Pepper Natural Deodorant was ok. The fragrance would have been better had it not been so overpowering. That being said, I could still smell it before showing the next morning (smelled as though I had just applied).
I did feel protected while using the deodorant. No reapplying was needed, as I did not smell, nor did I feel any wetness.
The downfall is that this does not go on clear and left marks on a black tank top i was wearing.

Smooth & effective but strong scent

When I opened the package, the scent of rose was really strong so I wasn't sure I could handle it. Once it was on, it wasn't as bad as I thought. In the ingredients list, it has "natural fragrance" which I not a huge fan of. I prefer to know exactly what's making stuff smell especially since I have fairly sensitive skin. I've reacted to plenty of deodorants and skin lotions in the past. So far, I haven't had a reaction to this though it’s only be a couple days.

It went on smooth, wasn't chalky, and felt fresh most of the day. For a packaged deodorant, I'd say pretty good. I do like that it’s more natural and doesn’t have aluminum. It will be convenient for travel but I think overall I'll stick to making my own where I can tone down the fragrance. I’ll still try the Charcoal+Magnesium. I like the smell of that one much better.

Not for me

I was excited to try Schmidt’s Natural deodorant for free thanks to Chick Advisor and #trySchmidtsNatural, as it’s the first hemp seed oil natural deodorant I’ve seen. Unfortunately, after trying to the Rose + Black Pepper, I would have to say this isn’t the deodorant for me. I found this scent was very strong. As well, I found that the texture was sticky, gritty and felt like sandpaper when applying. The colour of the deodorant it white did also leave residue on my clothes.

Works fine but not a fan of the smell

The product itself works fine and i like that It has no aluminum and is formulated w hemp seed oil which is proven to be a good hydrater and a calming affect. I am not a fan of the rose smell which is why i did not enjoy this product as much the charcoal and magnesium one. Would be interested to trying the sage or the lime one though.

My favorite part was the scent

The scent of this deodorant was lovely, it is interesting that they combined rose and black pepper. This formula has a better texture than that of the other Schmidt's deodorants, it is not as grainy as the others. It goes on smoothly and does not clump as much as the others. I was happy that it does not irritate my armpits, some Schmidt products irritate my armpits while others do not. However, it does not help as much as the others with bad odors at the end of the day (the charcoal and magnesium is best for odors). The packaging is very nice and feminine, which would catch my eye if I was shopping. Overall, I would give it a 3.5/5. This Rose+Black pepper was pretty good, but it would not be my first choice for natural deodorants. My most important criteria would be to guard against odors, which is scores a 3/5.

Smell is weird

I have loved other deodorant from Schmidt's. I also love the smell of roses. This product however is a bit of a miss for me. There is a strong rose smell at first application but there is also a lingering smell of what I guess is the pepper. However, the after smell of the pepper is kind of funky which is not something I want in my deodorant. I don't want people to wonder if I smell like sweat or like something else.
Luckily, the smell tones down during the day. It also goes on smoothly and keeps odors away. I will continue to use it because of this but it is not my favorite.

Schmidt's Rose + Black Pepper Natural Deodorant

I liked the actual deodorant but the smell was definitelynot for me. The stick went on smoothly and the product melted into my skin, I didn't find myself prespiring or having any body odor all day!

No body odour

A bit too strong of a scent for my usual day to day. It definitely keeps the body odour away all day while running around at work. The scent is different than any deodorant I have purchased before but I don't think I would have picked this up on my own. I love that you can read all the ingredients on the product!
