Good quality but expensive delivery

The quality of the produce that was selected was good. However the price and delivery charge is quite high. I usually do curbside to save on those charges. I received a free code for $25 off!

First off, thank you to Butterly and Voila for the opportunity to test out their delivery service. I have used grocery delivery services before. I was put off by grocers charging ABOVE store prices on apps, and heavy added fees plus delivery and tip. I was paying an extra 40$ or more just to have my groceries delivered, so I stopped using the service.
So now Voila has shown up. NO hidden fees, NO crazy added costs, and they have a cheap delivery fee you can pay monthly to get unlimited delivery’s.
I ordered my groceries to be delivered between 9 and 10 am. I got a call 10 minutes before he arrived which was helpful. He showed up at 9:45, handed all my groceries to me at my door and my shopping was done!
First thing I wanted to see was the quality of the groceries. My fruit was fresh and not moldy or old, bananas were quite bruised, but I can’t say if that happened in delivery or if they were picked that way. The only issue I had was I needed ground beef and they were sold out apparently.
The app itself is super easy to use, it categorizes EVERYTHING for quick and easy searches from sales to promotions to your regular sections of the grocery store. There was a few things from the pharmacy I needed but couldn’t get because they weren’t listed on the app, so I was disappointed I had to go to the grocery store after my groceries were dropped off, but it was a quick in and out so I didn’t mind.
I really like Voila, and I will definitely use them again in the future. I highly recommend voila over the competitors as you will be paying the same as you would in the grocery store but you can do it in the comfort of your own home without additional fees and service charges.

Simple and fast service

Using Voila was simple! We just signed up, put in our order, chose a delivery date and time and Voila! our groceries were here! Everything was packaged nicely. The cold and frozen things were definitely still cold and frozen! We got a call from our delivery driver saying she was 20 minutes away and she was there at that time. And she was very polite and friendly. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is the delivery fee is a little high but otherwise a great service!

Free midweek grocery delivery!

I love that for only $10 a month I can get limited midweek grocery deliveries. Being able to have more choices for grocery stores to order from is great. I can hop between platforms and order whatever is on sale and have everything delivered fast and easy.

They met my high standards!

I'm extremely picky when it comes to grocery shopping, which is part of the reason why I don't often do click and collect or delivery services. However, I decided to give Voila a try since it is new to my area and there were promos for $25 off $75 and a free month of delivery.

Their website was fairly simple to use and they had most of the items I wanted in stock. Their pricing was also not too far off of what I would expect to pay at Safeway/Sobeys.

The driver was courteous and gave me a call to let me know that he was 15 minutes away. He treated my groceries with care and offered to bring them inside for me. When I unpacked my order, I was very impressed with the quality of the produce and the long expiry dates on perishable items. They did a better job shopping than I would have!

Fast and efficient

I received a discount to try Voila grocery delivery. The process was easy and I was able to select a delivery slot that was very quick, lots of other services have a wait time. My delivery was temperature controlled, came on time with good communication. My only complaint was that none of the produce I wanted to order was available and the one that stayed in my cart was not reflected in the order summary I got by email. It would have been nice to get some replacement suggestions or notification this was removed

Ok - But website issues and higher base price

This was an ok delivery service. Having used delivery services for a few years now, I am quite efficient in grabbing what I need, put the order in and go. This website was so finicky, scrolling often made it glitch, and without knowing exactly what I needed I got the glitch a lot. Not fun. I also noticed that the prices of items, even when on sale were above the "normal" prices to other stores. Your budget wouldn't go far if you did a full shop here, so maybe just keep it for emergency items? Overall was ok, but not going to switch to this delivery service anytime soon.

Thoughtful and quick service

I was able to navigate the site easily and find the groceries I needed. I think some of the prices were a bit higher than what I would find in store for certain items but overall the delivery was quick, right on the dot and I was assured I would get help as soon as possible for any issues with product or date I may have.

Okay

I regularly use Walmart pickup or even instacart (which I also drive for) so I'm familiar with this concept. I went into this thinking the items would be more expensive because obviously safeway vs walmart... so, yes, most items were more expensive. They did have some sales that were then cheaper. I also find their produce much better.

There were a few things for me that decreased my rating.

First, the cost for delivery is huge in my opinion. A minimum of $10 a month and that limits you to only weekday deliveries. The larger issue is that pickup is not available at most stores yet. So you HAVE to get it delivered unless you're driving to the other side of the city.

Second, you HAVE to be home and answer the door or they will not leave your groceries. I get why, but there should be an option to leave at door, and the customer is responsible then if the groceries sit too long or are stolen.

Third, they charge you 5 cents per bag but don't give any options to not get bags?

Last, the upselling while ordering is insane. You have to scroll down through ~50 items in order to get to the checkout screen. It's a little ridiculous.

So I'd say this is an "upscale" grocery service. If you can afford it and don't mind waiting around for your groceries, then you'll definitely get better produce and items. But if you want to save money or like more convenience, I wouldn't recommend Voila.
