Convenient Grocery Delivery

It was exciting to learn that Sobey's has launched a new grocery delivery service and even more exciting to receive a small gift card to try it out. The website is very easy to use, prices seem reasonable and products from Farm Boy are also available. One hour delivery time slots make the service super convenient. The only issue I experienced was with attempting to edit my order. The service allows you to edit up till the day before delivery, but there are several steps involved and I wasn't successful. Customer service was helpful in explaining what I had done wrong, so next time I'll know!
My groceries arrived exactly within the time slot booked, and were carefully packed. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and found it well worth the $8 service charge.

Expensive but super fast service.

Easy to set up a profile. Most things were available on the website. Categories were neatly organized so it was easy to get to the type of product that you were looking for. There was a good variety in each category of products. I like that I was able to try some Farm boy, complements or fresh Co. products as well.

After placing your order there’s an opportunity to change your order up until it deadline. I received emails confirming my order. In the delivery instructions I asked for a phone call prior to the delivery, having kids I found this really important as I could get them settled and be free to take in my groceries when the time came. The phone call came as asked, the delivery person was very courteous and professional.

The groceries arrived with everything being very organized , The freezer fridge and pantry items were all separated into different bags. Nothing was squished as I’ve experienced before with other delivery services. The groceries are left on your porch or dropped into your front door if you prefer without any contact with the delivery person. I did see that the delivery person was wearing a mask as they dropped off the order.

My only criticism is that I find the price of items is very high compared to my usual grocery store of choice, which although it has no frills, is much cheaper in price. However I know people that use instant shopping services pay a large surcharge for that service. I feel Voila by Sobeys would be much better as grocery delivery slots are really available. I changed my mind a few times and was able to actually get a delivery the morning after I ordered. Delivery charge is cheaper than other grocery store.

Thank you #chickadvisor for the discount coupon to try #voila by Sobeys. It was easy to order with fast delivery and a friendly driver, Jason. The food was fresh and came at the proper temperature. Delivery is only $7.99 which is less than than some and no tipping! I will be ordering again.

Good effort for Sobeys grocery delivery

A good option for home grocery delivery. Delivery fee is reasonable and offers a variety of spots, much earlier than competitions and smaller windows of delivery (1 hour window compared to 2 hours or more).
Decent selection of items available, but seems offers less than what you would find in store and I would expect more variety since it is coming from a grocery warehouse than store.
Would like to be able to sort and narrow down search results further. I would also like to have an option for them to substitute products if the items selected turn out later to be out-of-stock come delivery day.
Good entry into the grocery delivery market, but needs improvement.

What an awesome experience! I was lucky to get a voucher from Chick Advisor to put towards my first order from Voila at Sobeys! As someone who has been primarily ordering grocery delivery during the pandemic, I was super excited to try something brand new and it is easy to spend $100 on groceries these days.

I really liked the ordering experience and the fact that not only do they have Sobeys products on the site, but they also have Farmboy and some Well.ca products. I love that they show the items that are on sale for the week as most of the other delivery companies do not do that as they are third party.

It was an easy checkout and there were plenty of time slots to choose from. I LOVE that they deliver as early as 6 to 7 am. That is fantastic and a game changer for me.

Delivery was super smooth and the person delivering the groceries was super sweet. He called me about half an hour before delivery, and as we live in a condo, I sent my husband down to grab the bags from him.

Side note, I love the colours they chose for their logo and colour scheme. The delivery truck is super cute too!

There is a $7.99 delivery fee but I found that to be completely reasonable as there are no other handling charges or fees and it's less than the $9.99 that the other big store players charge.

Overall, it was really a fantastic experience and I look forward to ordering again soon!

Great service

First I want to say that I received a discount in order to review this service.

There was so much about this service that I loved. First of all, there were a ton of items on sale - I liked seeing how much I saved on my order (even before the discount). Also knowing that the order was picked by robots and that the order is packed at the warehouse instead of at a store was a huge selling point for me - less hands touching the order, products aren't damaged or bruised from customers handling them, and the produce was crisp and very fresh. And the recyclable plastic bags was another bonus.

As much as I'm not a fan of shipping or delivery fees I actually found the $7.99 delivery fee very reasonable for the amount of value you get in the service: a call 15 minutes before the order arrives, a professional and friendly driver that explains your order to you, only having to give a day's notice for orders, organizing the order with colour-coded bags to know which products need to go into the fridge, order coming in a temperature controlled truck... just to name a few.

I would definitely use this service again when I have large grocery runs to do - the runs where it's difficult for me to bring my kids along for. The small delivery fee is definitely worth the hassle I will save.

Great experience, but...........

I was amazed at the ease of using the online ordering platform and the rapid delivery of the ordered goods. I placed my order on Tuesday night and the groceries were delivered on Thursday morning (compared to some of the other online grocery stores, who don't any availability for 1-2 weeks.) The groceries were fresh and packed well. On the downside, the produce that I ordered were small (eg, avocadoes, oranges, mangoes) and I was charged based on an "average" weight. I found alot of the food items to be over priced. $7.99 delivery fee, not worth it. Other companies offer free delivery . Great experience, but I don't think that I will be ordering from them again.

Voila by Sobeys

I had the chance to try Voila by Sobeys through chick advisor they gave me a code for $25 off of $100. The service was amazing and the quality and freshness of the products were beyond my expectations.

You start by picking your delivery time and then choose your groceries minimum $50 and a $7.99 delivery fee which is well worth it for the service they provide. They called me before they arrived to ensure I was home and able to take the groceries in right away.

The items are picked from the warehouse fresh so they havent sat at a store. I picked items from fresh food to frozen and everything came the way they were picked. I reccomend this service to anyone it is so worth it. I promise if you try it you'll love it too!

I'll definitely be using this service again!

Voila food delivered!

Sobey's is right around the corner from me, but couldn t resist with their new delivery service. I know I had used Metro and was very impressed. Sobey's is good, comparable to Metro. One thing I did notice was that they did not substitute products which is critical to me, cause of special diets - even for my cats! Sobey's bags may end up being a problem for them cause they use the regular plastic bags which had trouble holding the boxes of cat food and litter, never mind the laundry detergent. Surprised they didn't burst just walking the goods down the hall in the house! Produce was fresh and refrigerated and with temps in the high 30s lately that's key! However, I did stop in the local Sobey's itself and the prices on Voila and at the actual store were not the same - romaine was cheaper at Voila surprisingly as well as a few items, that I had not ordered seemed cheaper in the store. Another item was, with Metro, if you order over $50 delivery is free. At Voila it was $7.99, unfortunately.

Has potential, but needs work

I received a discount code from chick advisor to try voila by sobeys, I was pretty excited because the idea of your groceries just showing up is awesome!

Sadly voila did not impress me. From the get go I noticed almost every item I wanted was greyed out and “unavailable” which made it super inconvenient, if it weren’t for the review I committed to I would not have followed through with an order. I really struggled to hit the minimum order, thankfully they had a lot of great farm boy items to choose from and I managed to put together a decent cart, although a lot of my groceries I will still have to go buy elsewhere.

If everything was in stock and they had a larger selection of products I think this would work. Hopefully in the future that is rectified.

I will say however that the actually delivery portion was phenomenal! The delivery driver called me about 15 minutes prior to arriving to arrange everything, dealing with him was the best part of the experience. He every checked the groceries before leaving.

The quality of the products is great, it’s just the lack of selection which leaves me not wanting to use the service again.
