Safe and Convenient Grocery Shopping

During these precarious times, safety is an ongoing concern and hearing that Sobey's offered not only online grocery shopping but delivery as well, in addition to being offered a discount to try out the service was music to my ears.
Finding items was easy by going through the categories that included sale items. I fist began shopping on the Voila website and downloaded the app which was very easy. I was concerned that the sale items that I selected wouldn't carry over due to the available delivery date but they did which was great! When placing your order you have a timeframe where you can make changes to your order, which was an awesome feature.
My delivery came earlier than expected but I was called prior to ensure that an earlier delivery was okay. The items order were packed in bags by my house, which delayed the delivery process. I'm not sure if the items were in refrigerated cabinets in the truck.

Fantastic, accurate and friendly

The ease of use for this service was amazing. The delivery was super fast, very efficient and really friendly. Everything was accurate, they called 15 mins ahead and again once they'd arrived, and the deliveryman was very informative and professional. I usually run into a Sobeys because there are rare things I can't get at the stores in my area and Sobeys isn't so to have them delivered to me with such ease is was wonderful. I think the prices were relatively comparable and I would totally recommend them to my friends and family. The orders are fulfilled directly from their warehouse and packaged by machines so it's less human contact with the food which seems safer. I'm often missing things or get a million tiny little bags from purple in the store having packaged the order so this was more efficient for sure. They're even going to be doing a plastic bag buy back eventually so they told me to keep the bags. It's nice to know they're being environmentally conscious. All in all it was a great experience and I would definitely do it again soon.

Great service and great quality!

I really enjoyed using Voila to purchase food from Sobeys!!! The quality of the food was amazing - was able to purchase a lot of farm fresh and organized foods! There were tons of delivery windows available - and you’re able to change your delivery up until 730pm the night before! The delivery driver was on time and called me 10 minutes before he arrived. Best part was he brought it all the way up to my apartment door! Everything was organized and he handed me my frozen food first - he made sure to tell me that this was the frozen food and should be put away right away. Great service, great quality, and great food!

Fast, easy, convenient

Voila was an easy ordering platform to use. All my items were delivered within the delivery window I selected.
Refrigerator and freezer items were easily identifiable with different bag handle colours.
Delivery guy explained the colour system to me.
Friendly and courteous.

It's so quick and easy!

This was my first time doing a grocery order and I might be addicted!
The site was super easy to navigate, and it has items from well.ca!
The delivery was smooth, they followed the instructions I left when I placed the order, they also text you if they are able to deliver earlier (if convenient to you, if not they'll come at their regular scheduled time) and they had proper PPE and kept a distance!

Super happy to have been chosen to try this service out! Thanks chickadvisor, Sobeys and Sam (the deliveryman)!

I got to try @sobeys Voila program thanks to @chickadvisor. I received a $25 off WYS $100 code. My total came to $84.63 as there is a $7.99 flat delivery fee.

Ordering: The website was okay. The search bar doesn’t work that greatest.. I searched pickles and it brought up all canned items, had to scroll far down the page to find the first pickle jar. I noticed a lot of their flyer sale items were not online or not reflected on Voila such as Pringle’s. Not a very large selection of products.

Time slots: Lots if available time slots to use. Windows were 1 hour long.

Cashing out: I was taken off guard when I finished my order and it never asked me for my @airmiles_canada number. I called the customer service line and talked to a lovely lady who said they did not give Airmiles through this program. HUGE loss as I would have got over 100 points which is $10 .
Very disappointed here, especially because I tried to order products based on my points offers.

Delivery: The gentleman called me when he was about 20 minutes away. He parked around the corner and brought my groceries in bins to my house. He put everything on the front step for contactless delivery. I was outside so talked to him a bit, was very nice and very careful with the food - appreciated this!

Food: My order was correct. I got all my items and they were as advertised. I appreciated how meat was wrapped in another bag and same with wet produce. Everything was cold and even better then trying to bring it from the grocery store myself. Only complaint was my cantaloupe was very noticeably rotten. Huge spot on the side and smells horrible even before opening the bag. It went right into the garbage - so a waste of $4.

I found Sobeys pricing VERY expensive. Their ordering platform was not up to pair with other services. Not getting any type of points back is a HUGE hit. Cannot use coupons. Process was quite easy, however other services offer more products, points, price matching and coupons.

Fast and easy, great service if just a bit pricey

I was selected by Chickadvisor to order from Sobeys, with a discount code. I live very close to two discount grocery stores, and therefore rarely use a delivery service, but in trying to limit my outings, I thought this was a great time to try it out! The prices were higher than my regular discount stores, so I don't think I would order from them again, but with the discount it was certainly worth it.
I'm someone who enjoys grocery shopping, so I missed browsing the same way, but I was able to pick my products through the provided categories and filters, and the descriptions were good in providing amounts and nutritional information. I think having all flavours/styles and sizes together would be helpful. Different sizes of the same product are listed together on the site - for example, 12 or 24 hot dogs, each ice cream flavour etc. As well, do note the sales are not the same as the Sobey's flyers!
As for the positives, it was great that I could get foods from Sobey's or FarmBoy and even specialty ethnic foods all in one order. I received the delivery on time and without contact. I received one item that was not as expected, it appeared to have mold on it, but it was easily resolved! I called customer service, they asked for photos and refunded that part of my order the next day. Easy as can be! Lastly, the prices of delivery was the same regardless of date or time!
I would recommend this service to those who can't go out, or need to limit their exposure during this pandemic, and to those who already shop at Sobey's and have a pretty set grocery list - it will be fast and easy, with great service!

Quality Grocery Delivery

I received a discount through the Product Review Club to try Voila by Sobeys.

Overall, the process was good. Easy to order online with lots of time slots for delivery. The food comes in a climate controlled truck direct from the warehouse. We received a call 10 minutes before our food was arriving to confirm where we would like the food left. The employee wore full PPE and delivered the food to our doorstep. All items that I ordered were in my delivery, no items skipped.

While I did find the service good overall, the delivery fee of $7.99 felt steep to me for a major retailer. It would probably stop me from using the service again on a regular basis, and more as an as needed basis.

Overall the experience was positive and I would recommend it to people above other food delivery services in the category.

Too expensive, not enough products

Voila by Sobeys might be worth it if they had more diverse items available, but I keep kosher and I was unable to get any kosher meat or cheese using this service. Therefore it too hard to reach the $50 minimum for free delivery, and the service is not worth using at all.

Very Impressed!

I just had my first experience with Sobey's new Voilà grocery delivery service and could not have been more impressed.

The whole process including ease of ordering, quick delivery window availability, communication, freshness and accuracy of my order was seamless and enjoyable from start to finish.

My delivery person, Ravneet, was so courteous, efficient and obviously very proud of his job and the company. He communicated his arrival time by phone, followed all the COVID protocols and carefully ensured my order was complete, all while being so pleasant, professional and friendly. Anyone could take a lesson in what true customer service is from Ravneet and Voilà By Sobeys!
