I really wanted to loooove this book and I did, to a point. It's a unique story, but sometime feels like a rehash of The Windup Bird Chronicles. The third part of the book kind of drags on, which I think is a symptom of the book being originally released in Japan in three separate parts. I'm used to long books and I didn't actually find the book long, but it lags unnecessarily in parts.
this is the thickest book i have ever read. you can never go wrong with Haruki Murakami. and out of all the books that i have read, this book gives me so much suspense especially near the ending. i gotta say, when you reach the last 20% of the book, it gives the most suspense but the plot kinda runs in circles. but all in all, it is a great book. i recommend it if you're patient enough to read 1000+-page book.
