All these eyeshadows are pigmented! I also really like the cream shadows, as a little bit of the cream shadow is great as an eyelid primer. The basic eye edition is great for those who like warmer more purple shades with some neutral shades. I also really like how there are matte colors in this palette. The included eyeliner is ok, and it works in a pinch, but doesn't last a super long time. I also don't really pay attention to the diagrams, but they are helpful for beginners.

The piece that sets this product aside from many others is the look guide on the inside which I love! It is a great tool for newbies, and even for ladies who want to try something new. The product wears well and has nice pigmentation. I found it easy to apply as well.

The eyeshadows in this pallet are very good quality, and well pigmented. For the amount your paying (I paid $5.00 through the site) you are getting a heck of a deal.

The packaging is OK, but when I got mine in the mail the BLACK shadow was crushed, which was a bit disappointing, as the comapny should package it better, but other then that the product is great.

The E.L.F beauty encyclopedia basic eye edition is definitely one of my go-to everyday palette! I really love all the neutral colors in here they are all really pretty and wearable. I always like browns from cool toned to warm toned and plums because I think those suit my eye color and skin tone the most. The Basic eye edition has exactly these: browns from warm to cool (both medium- dark shades) and it also has pinks, and plums/purples. I think those colors are just perfect for making my desired wearable everyday looks, though I don't wear eyeshadow everyday, I reach for this a lot when I do decide to wear some eyeshadow. This palette isn't my favorite palette since I have so many, but its my favorite Portable palette. Since this palette is pretty light weight, and not too big (its medium sized) in my opinion, I always take this with me when I travel back home for the weekends. The shadows are mostly shimmery, but there is a couple matte colors, but I love shimmery shadows anyway so I don't mind all the shimmer :) It also has 2 creme shadows, pink and creme, a eyeliner and a small eyeshadow brush. The eyeshadow brush included is a little scratchy so I just use my own brushes. The creme shadows are a bit oily so I just like using a little bit on my lids, but I do enjoy it because my eyelids are a bit dry in the morning, so the creme shadow helps the shadow adhere to my eye better. If you guys love brown, pinks, and purples as your neutral colors, I'd totally recommend this palette!! I really like it a lot! But if you like more cool toned colors such as blue, gray and black( I feel like these colors aren't very neutral or wearable anyways, but thats just me :P ), this palette is not for you. For $5 I think this little palette is definitely worth the price- you can try to find it at target so that you don't have to pay the $6.95 shipping on the elf website. Hope this helps, thanks for reading!

xoxo,
Kathleen
