Bought this as a finishing touch for my makeup. It kind of puts a shimmery highlight onto your face, but very subtly. I thought it would brighten a lot more than it does. Probably would not buy again
Okay, so I'm not a huge fan of powder as it is. But I heard some really great things about this product, so I decided to try it. The first problem is the lack of shades to match skin tones. I'm very fair, but even the "Light" is too dark for me. It works pretty well to set foundation, if your into that sorta thing (as long as it's close enough to your color of your foundation).
I had very high hopes when purchasing MAC's Mineralize Blush in Dainty, since it is a beautiful peachy/pink color with a hint of shimmer. I thought this would look good on my fair skin, since I tend to navigate towards these shades and I really wanted this to be my super-can't-live-without-it blush, simply because I did pay a considerable price for it and it is a product of MAC''s which is known for their good quality. However, when I applied it I noticed that the color hardly showed up on my skin. I have fair/porcelain skin and any touch of color will show up instantly, but I found myself really having to layer this product on for it to have any sort of impact. Although, I should have known better, since mineral makeup is usually less pigmented than regular makeup. I did appreciate that the shimmer effect was not too overpowering, but rather subtle which is nice. Therefore, I have found an alternative use for this blush. I will use this over another more pigmented peachy blush, such as NYX's Peachy and layer the MAC's Dainty over it to give it a polished finish with a light shimmer, since the other blush is matte. I don't think I will be purchasing this product again though. I can find a more pigmented blush with subtle shimmer at a cheaper price. If I do purchase another blush from MAC, it will be from their regular line and not the mineralized finish.
