Love Love Love these smudge pots. They last all day and stay put. The gel dries extremely fast, so you have to work quickly. A flat or thin brush is necessary to use these pots properly. Stila sells a brush to use specifically for them, but they're a little pricey. If you don't already have a brush for gel liners, you can look up what stila's brush looks like and find a cheaper alternative somewhere else.
I have the smudge pot in black and brown. The black one is very very dark, and works well as an eyeliner. If you put a little bit on and "smudge" it right away, the color becomes lighter and is great for smokey eyed look. The brown one it gorgeous! It's brown with a golden shimmer. It makes a very pretty eyeshadow.
I've heard that smudge pots have the tendency to dry out, so I've been very careful with mine. I make sure it's closed tightly after every use and that I don't leave the lid off for too long. So far it's hadn't dried on me yet.
I am not a big eyeliner girl and only use this on special occasions. It's a bit pricey, but works well with the right brush and stays put until you take it off (it doesn't say on the box, but I'm pretty sure it's waterproof - something you could use to wear on teary days like weddings etc..) Also, for a black liner, it stays really black vs the many other products I've tried that turn gray/lighter over the evening. I would recommend it!
i love stila smudge pots! it was a little tricky to put on at first...you need a steady hand...but the staying power of this gel eyeliner won me over. I put it on in the morning and it stays put all day. I've replaced my usual daily kohl pencil with this product :)
It's true that you'll need a little practice with this liner. You need a proper brush (a flat liner) and good technique. Having said that, I heart the Smudge Pots! I've only tried the Brown and I'd definitely buy it in other colors. It truly lasts all day! In fact, you'd better move fast if you make an application boo boo because it sets quickly. So, if you want the smudge-y look, then do it right away. You can make it smudge-y like a liner shadow, a thin precise line, a cat's eye look, a thick bold line...whatever your little heart desires. Just be patient, practice, and you'll heart the Smudge Pots too!
