reviews I personally love this series of books! Yeah it's very "high school" but it's great fluff reading if you don't want something you have to concentrate on to get the story. I love how it goes together and provokes some awesome emotional responses! [ back to top ] This review is the subjective opinion of a ChickAdvisor member and not of ChickAdvisor Inc. I'll be honest, Stephanie Meyer's writing style isn't the best. A lot of the book sounds like a 14 year old gooey girl, HOWEVER, the story is great! I love the concept and I love her unique view of things she's created with the vampire world. I think the other books are better than Twilight, but I do love the story and I read all books and I'll watch all movies because I think the story is great. I do not like the writing style though. I'd still recommend it to anyone who loves forbidden love stories. It's a fun guilty pleasure kind of read, but I wouldn't buy it. Borrow it from a friend or get it at the library. I'm not itching to read the sequel unless I can get my hands on it at a discount. reviews This book started my obsession with the Twlight series. I loved this book. Stephanie Meyer is an amazing writer. You identify with Bella (main character) throughout this book. reviews Ahhh,.... young, immortal love. I read this book, along with all the others in the series because when there is so much hype about something, it feels almost negligent not to be in on it. I'm a fan of vampire stories and the supernatural in general as well, so it was a natural read for me. I liked the over all theme of the book, although it was pretty predictable and Bella is an annoying drama queen. Having said that, it was like mind crack and I couldn't wait to read the next one. It sucked me in even though at times I was rolling my eyes. The reason it grabs you though isn't because of Bella and Edward's story so much as it is about everyone's story. I wanted to learn more about the Cullen's in general, not just the two main characters. By reading the series you get to glimpse into everyone's past and see how all the peices of this family fit together. Updated On: Apr 30, 2009 Go ahead... I officially give you permission to get swept up in Twilight mania for the entertainment factor alone. WIll this book make you a better person or make you see the world in a different light? Probably not... but it is a great read for a vacation or a weekend spent in the hammock ignoring the dishes.
