We hosted my friend's bachelorette party at the Aradia fitness studio in stony plain, ab back in November. There was an option for doing a lapdance class, but due to the lack of familiarity between party goers I didn't think that was the best way to go. Instead, we opted for an hour long pole dance class, which included some floor work.
The instructor was also a partner in the business and was very professional in the arrangements leading up to the event. Throughout the class she was great at encouraging all of us to be brave and face our fears of embarrassmente. It was clear that this establishment truly believes that every body is beautiful and every woman is sexy and capable. One of our etemdees recently had surgery and was unable to complete all of the moves, but the instructor was very nice and able to modify many of those moves for her to still be able to participate.
By the end of the hour we were all sweaty, a little bruised, and laughing. It was a great bonding experience to share with each other and helped with everyone's confidence for the night, a few of us decided then and there that pole fitness was in our futures. The only thing holding us back was the cost. As with many recreational fitness programs, the cost is quite high for something non-essential.
I suggest that anyone interested in stepping outside the box and overcoming body image issues or even wanting to build strength try a sample class or arrange a party at a local studio. It's a more cost effective way to determine if pole fitness is the right fit for you.
