I’ve been eyeing this new type of nail polish for quite some time not, but could never justify spending the $10. I was so happy to find China Glaze Crackle nail polish in my October Luxebox. Here’s my review!

I tried “Platinum Pieces” – a metallic silver. I decided to apply the silver over a bright purple because I thought it would be a nice contrast. I love this stuff because it’s perfectly fine if you make a bit of a mess (and let me tell you, I am the messiest nail person!). Within seconds of applying the Crackle polish, it started to crackle right before my eyes. It left a really neat looking effect on my nails!

I applied a topcoat to seal the colour. Today is Day 2, and the polish is still sitting nicely on my nails. The only thing that slightly bothers me is the texture (my nails feel a bit gritty, if that makes any sense). Overall – I LOVE IT! In the near future I’m going to pick up some other colours (the Crackle comes in many different shades) and try playing with them on different base coats.

I wasn't too sure what I thought about the whole crackle trend 9I'm still not too sure if I'm sold on it or not...) but I did pick up China Glaze Crackle in Cracked Concrete a medium gray shade.

From all the crackle polishes I've seen, the China Glaze seems like it provides the best crackle, as you get a good sized cracks allowing the base polish to shine. Some brands don't crack enough to even see the base colour. You have to apply the crackle polish pretty quickly, as I found it dried so fast it was drying on the brush as was getting thick and gooey. The polish cracks almost immediately once on the nail and dries pretty fast. I found that with the crackle my nail polish lasted way longer (five days before a single chip as opposed to two) than with just normal top coat.
