I Have stubborn gray at my temples, at the front part behind the bangs and over my ears. None of the other brands I tried lasted more than three weeks before I'd nearly be all gray in those areas again. Usually I will go to a salon to have it dyed as over the counter hair colour seemed to be weaker and do damage like dry out my hair. I first started using Pantene Expert Age Defy shampoo and colour and now use it all the time so I wanted to try Clairol Expert Age Defy Hair Colouring and I am glad I did.
This product is very easy to use and only took 1 hour from prep and clean up. My hair felt soft and smooth afterwards. Next time I will go with a lighter shade though as the light brown is too dark for me. I recommend this product to anyone that colours their hair and has grey to cover without damage

I just tried this product and it amazing, I love the treatment you leave on so the gray hairs color better. It leaves you hair shinny and smooth and very soft... Only 30 min and your done... Will definitely be buying this product again....Try it and see how shinny your hair will be....

I strayed from my usual brand of hair color when I saw this on sale at Shoppers. I was shocked when I opened the box to read the instructions and saw that this color has to sit for 35 minutes, as compared to 10 minutes with my regular brand. But, I have to say, I liked this brand better than my old one! I found the scent was far, far less chemically it actually had a somewhat pleasant smell. It felt like it was gentler on my scalp than other brands. It was a thicker formula that was easier to work through hair and stayed piled on top of my head while I waited the 35 minutes for it to process. It rinsed out much easier as well. Also came with a 'pre treatment ' it smelled really good. Definitely covered my greys better. Left my hair smoother and shinier. Color turned out beautiful, no red tone to it or brassiness, just a nice rich, dark brown. A bit darker than the box, but I'm okay with that. I will absolutely buy it again!

Sometimes, the dye didn't take at all from the get-go, esp over the greys at my temples.

I tried this on July 15. 8 weeks later, the greys are just barely showing -- I'm guessing I can last another 2-4 weeks before I need to touch up!!!

I used this for the first time just last night! Was excited to try a newer product that will cover the incoming greys. Love the pre-treatment serum gel that's included! Dye went on with same consistency as all other Clairol dyes, creamy and not too runny. I have long thick hair and one box was enough to completely saturate all of my hair. This shade, #5 Medium Brown, came out beautiful! My hair is nice and soft. Full color and shine. Quite impressed! Will definitely be using this one again.

I tried this hair color on a whim. I was having difficulty finding a brand that would deal with my stubborn grays. As a young woman I am embarrassed of my grays so I have been coloring my hair my natural color dark brown for years. This product has been the best I have used so far. I have tried so many other kinds of permanent hair color and none of them would work well on my stubborn gray hairs. I would have to leave the dye on for so long and my hair would end up black. With this one I left it on for the normal time and it worked perfectly. I will never go back to the other kinds I have used in the past. Truly a winner in my books!

I love this hair dye. It dyes all the grey hair evenly and well and is very effective. I don't feel like I need to re dye my hair so often when I use this brand compared to others. As an added bonus it leaves my hair feeling great and super soft.
