Heinz > French's

I have always been one of those people that thinks that some things are just better brand name. Kleenex, toilet paper, antibacterial wipes... you get it. Ketchup is one of them and for me, Heinz is and will always be my #1. My boyfriend bought French's as one of our grocery stores in town doesn't carry Heinz anymore and I was soooo disappointed :( I want to support and buy this product as it recently gave all production in Canada to Canadian farmers and producers and I am all about that Canadian pride.. but I just was not a fan. To me, this tastes sweeter and is a little more runny then Heinz. It is also very messy and no matter how hard I try the bottle gets dirty after use.

I don't like it

I'm so sad that I don't like french's ketchup . I would love to support a Canadian brand but it's just not as good as Heinz . It's not as thick or as flavourful . It's good quality, it's just not good tasting unfortunately. I sadly can't recommend.

French's makes an okay Ketchup, it's not my usual brand, but in a pinch it works.

I find French's ketchup has a nice flavor, however its a too watery for me and it leaves a yucky after taste in my mouth. When the kids came home over Thanksgiving last fall, they tried it and were not a fan, even though we tried to tell them it was the exact same as other brands, they didn't buy it. So for Christmas, one of them bought her Dad and I, two large bottles of our regular brand and she told us she didn't want to compromise her ketchup any longer when she comes home. lol

I tried to like it. I really did. I just couldn't get past the taste. It wasn't as thick as my normal go to brand either. Others in my household were not fans either. So it wasn't just me. We ended up throwing it out and buying our regular brand.

My family members are diehard fans of Heinz's Ketchup but we wanted to give French's Tomato Ketchup a try. All I can say is that it is tangy and tart without the sweetness that you expect and are used to having in ketchup. None of us liked it and we will be sticking to our tried and true Heinz Ketchup. Not a winner in my household.
