This might be on the pricier side, but you don't need much each time you use it. Just a little dab and it provides so much coverage.

Even though this product is extremely effective the price is crazy. If you can afford this product than it is definitely worth it. It makes my hands feel amazing. However if you cant afford it, don't waste your money for this product there are cheaper products that work just as well as this one

I first received this as a gift from my Mom and I was impressed. I am usually very senstivie with scents so alot of creams really bother me but this one did bother me at all. Since, I received it as a gift I have had two more tubs and always carry one in my purse.

This hand cream is very moisturizing, it does leave a slight bit of residue behind but considering how nice it makes my hands feel it's quite worth it. The downsides are the packaging and the price, this is too expensive for a hand cream. Though this hand cream is very good I see hand creams as something you have to reapply often and there are plenty of creams that are as moisturizing as this at a much lower price point.

The packaging could also use some work, when it starts running low and you get some kinks in the metal cream can start to leak out these cracks which can make a huge mess. Also the tiny cap isn't great for on the go use as I find it fiddly sometimes when I have to hold it, squeeze some cream out, then put the cap back on.

I would say give this a try, it is a very good product and a nice splurge item to pamper yourself with but for me I can't see myself repurchasing it just because the price is too much for me.

I bought this hand cream for 30$. It has a rich and thick texture, and contains 20% shea butter. The absorption is not optimal (it leaves a oily residue) but it hydrates and protects the hands all day, even after washing them. It is a truly great product, but the scent is displeasing (it smells like baby powder). I would definitely recommend it, but next time, I will try other fragrances of the same brand.

I hate to be a party pooper, but it seems that many products (including this one) don't seem to work as well for me as they seem to do for others.

I have normal skin with the occasional dry patches, but since my skin is fairly low maintenance, I just put any kind of lotion on it and within a few days, the dry skin disappears.

I got the mini size free as part of their promotion a few months ago, and as it was still winter, I was excited to try this product on some dry patches on my hands (e.g. on the tips of my thumbs). The cream is really thick (it holds its shape really well coming out of the tube), and has a very strong scent (probably due to its 20% shea butter content). The scent takes some getting used to. Anyways, after putting it on the dry patches of skin, I didn't notice a difference -- in fact, I think any commonplace moisturizer, e.g. Vaseline, works as well as, if not better (i.e. faster) than this product. For me, it takes almost 2cm (lengthwise) of this product to cover both hands, and I don't feel as though my hands are more moisturized than normal.

Verdict: for people with normal skin, don't bother buying this product. With 1/3 of money needed to buy a mini size of this hand cream, you could go out and buy a whole tub of Vaseline, and it'll work just as well (or better). Or, just wait out the dry patches of skin on your hands.

This lotion is amazing, it doesn't leave a greasy after-feeling and it will stay on your hands all day, even after hand washing.

One downfall is that the smell is quite strong, and not exactly the type of scent I like. The other is the price, but if have trouble with dry skin, this will work.

I have never tried their products until that day I went to pick it up my free sample hand cream.
Everything is a bit out of my price range but I guess that is what you pay for items made in France.
I used a coupon to purchase the full size C$30 hand cream because I fell in love with it.
My hands are super dry so applying once is not enough.
    It smells great.
In the store they they had fantastic sales reps. They were so nice and very helpful.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream $30, Size : 150 ml

Overall Experience: very good , smooth hand cream

Ease of use - the lid for this tube is tiny, odd shape that it is difficult to put the cap back on. I recommend a flip top cap, or use a jar.

Texture - Very nice, just right texture, and really moisten a dry hand ( i hand wash my dishes and pots, and change diapers often)

Scent - mild scent, easy on the nose

    Packaging:
Aluminum tube - no I do not like this one. Look at the picture, it looks like a disfigured doll.
For a Made in France product, this belongs to the hall of shame.

    Changes to your skin:

smoothness- after i apply this, it definitely smooths the dry hands, re-apply often after hand washing

Moisture level - have to re-apply often when I like that level of smoothness, but so as with other products like Aveeno

Healthy appearance - yes, definitely healthy when your hands ain't flaking

Compare to other products you tried in the past?
This one is special - the texture is just right, not watery, not too hard.
This influences my usage since i don't want a watery lotion or one that i need sledge hammer to take it out.

    Plus - it works!

Picture: My own product, taken by my Blackberry Curve.

Would you consider purchasing these products in the future and recommend to friends?

If you don't mind the crappy packaging, buy it. It works!
