95% OF CHICKS DIG IT
Thanks to the Chick Advisory Review Club for letting me try this out!
Hmmm....I wonder what these little things were based on? Perhaps EOS? Just a wild guess there. ;) As with EOS, I find that these cubes are easy to take on the go. They don't fit as well in a makeup bag as other balms, but they're still easy to throw in a purse. I also really like the clear design, as it makes them look like little ice cubes! This is a great drugstore option for a lip balm. I have really dry lips, and would need to reapply this multiple times during the day. Even so, it felt comfortable on the lips and definitely had decent moisturizing properties!
Received these as part of the review box from ChickAdvisor.
I don't particularly like the cube style of this one, but the mint is definitely my favourite (I'm a sucker for anything with menthol)... This is the one i will most likely be using the most!
It has an almost sweet mint scent, instead of a more medicated one.
The cube style is less convenient for carrying, and also just an 'odd' way to put lip balm on... i am more concerned with the effectiveness of a product vs it's 'trendy packaging'
This was my favorite! Mint flavor was refreshing, product worked GREAT. Left lips smooth, moist, and not sticky. Didnt make your lips feel gross and sticky after. Still felt clean!
It has a nice minty scent however it doesn't last long and I am constantly reapplying to keep my lips hydrated. Also when the cube shape gets to the end its hard to use up the rest of the product due to the shape
My lips felt amazing after just a few days of using the Softlips Cube Moisturizer. I enjoyed the light minty scent, had to stop myself from licking it off my lips right away. It was longing wearing and I did not to reapply that often. I really liked the applicator cube.
I found that this lip balm worked very well at keeping moisture in my lips, making them soft and smooth for longer than the leading brand. The scent is really nice too. :)
I love having a mint lip balm or gloss in my bag. It is perfect for after lunch or just days you want to freshen up your breath! I also like the cooling effect it gives my lips. Leaves my lips feeling moisturized and my breath smelling fresh.
**I received this product from Chick Advisor.**
I received this product for free to review thanks to ChickAdvisor. Fresh mint has a sweet, minty flavour. You definitely feel a tingle when you first apply it but It's not too strong like a medical mint flavour. Value wise, you get a lot more bang for your buck with the cube. The cube has 3.7 g of lip balm whereas the stick only has 6.5 g. While the packaging is cute and you do get more lip balm with the cube, I found it to be a bit too bulky. I have noticed that with SoftLips products, I tend to re-apply a lot more often, but in the long run, my lips feel a lot smoother.
I received this lip balm as part of chickadvisor's product review club. I go through quite bit of lip balm because i live in a rather dry climate. This one was my favorite because I am generally not a fan of lip balms with sweet scents and are flavoured. This particular 5 in 1 lip balm touts that it is hydrating, replenishes as it contains Vitamins A, C, & E, smoothes, protects, and leaves your lips shining. It definitely does not disappoint and delivers on their 4 claims. When applying thus lip balm, it glides across your lips and feels buttery and smooth, and I didnt feel like i needed to reapply my lip balm for a few hours. I do also like that this lip balm come in a square container. The cube like container looks very chic and fancy. And the shape minimizes the likelihood of your lip balm rolling away, should it ever be dropped.
As part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, I got the opportunity to test out the Softlips CUBE moisturizer in Fresh Mint.
This balm comes in a cube format (like EOS) but in a cube instead of a ball. I love the format. It's quick and easy to apply, cute, and fits easily into my purse or pocket without worries that a tube cap will come off. The cube shape means it doesn't roll around my makeup table, and the clear plastic is really adorable.
The five claimed benefits are: Hydration, Shine, Protection, Smoothness, and Replenishment. I felt as though the product managed all of these benefits to some extent, but that overall, it wouldn't replace my regular lip balms. Let's go through the claims one by one:
Hydration: Softlips CUBE has shea butter to help hydrate your lips, and I did find that upon immediate application, my lips felt more hydrated. I also really like the menthol/mint taste that perks me right up.
Shine: CUBEE does leave a shine on your lips, and is better than many lips balms. That said, it doesn't compare to the shininess of most lip glosses, so unless you're looking for a "natural shiny" look, this probably won't cut it in terms of delivering on shine.
Protection: The product is supposed to create a moisture barrier that protects against dryness. Check. While the barrier doesn't last for a full day, it does last sufficiently to prevent my lips from drying out for at least a few hours. What it doesn't protect against is sun exposure. I wish this had an SPF!
Smoothness: One of my favourite applications of the CUBE is before matte lipsticks that tend to dry out my lips. While I've been wearing more glosses and lip oils as the weather gets warmer, I can see using this again in the fall. It seems to work just as well as more expensive lip primers and moisturizers to help smooth out the lip.
Replenishment: I'm not entirely sure how to judge this separately from hydration, but I can say that my lips felt soft, full, and replenished when wearing Softlips CUBE.
Overall, I wish this product hit more of these claims out of the park, but I really like the format and the minty freshness. I will buy again instead of purchasing an EOS alternative.
