Great product
I really like this product. Tastes and very similar to butter. Only thing that if you leave it out on the counter is get really soft that you should leave it on the plate.
Healthy PLANT BASED Option
I received a free product coupon from Family Rated to try Becel Plant-Based Bricks. I decided to purchase the unsalted brick (though you could also purchase a salted brick) and used it in baking.
I must say, while I regularly use Becel, I have never used their plant-based product and I was impressed. I used half the brick to make cookies and the other half to whip up some icing for a cake. I let the brick get to room temperature before baking and found that it whipped and blended nicely with other ingredients. Becel Plant-Based bricks gave a nice texture and a rich taste to the cookies and icing.
I found that the price of the brick was comparable to competitors’ brands. There was no noticeable difference in taste, using the brick to bake with or how my baking turned out. Considering this option is plant-based and much more natural than other options out there (vegetable & canola oil), it was much more appealing to me and I will continue to buy it.

It’s a butter
I have used the unsalted plant based Becel Brick and I have to say I was positively surprised. It looks like a butter, it tastes like a butter and it works like a butter. The only difference I found it is always soft, even directly from the fridge. Good ingredient for bake. #BecelPlantBricks #ButterLoversLoveIt #FamilyRated #gotitfree
A smooth buttery taste of a plant base bricks
I got the product for free from family rated. I tried to bake a cookies using it. The aroma, texture, and the result of the baked goods that I made with Becel's bricks is so satisfying. You would not believe it is actually a bricks that made of 70% of vegetable and 30% of canola oil. I am impressed with it. Surely recommended to anyone to try as a plant based alternative for butter.
Plant-based is love!
I loved this product! I can’t taste the difference between this one and the standard Becel. I used this product to make cinnamon buns and they were a hit! This product acted just like butter would and no one could tell the difference. What I like the most is that the package is quite simply and produce less waste than the usual Becel plastic package and the fact that this product is plant based! Thank you Family rated for this opportunity!
Just like butter!
So I used the my sample of BECEL UNSALTED PLANT-BASED BRICKS to make my favourite banana bread recipe. Normally, I always forget to take the butter out of the fridge ahead of time to make it easier to cream the butter and brown sugar together. No need to do that with this product! It was super easy to just start my recipe without too much prep work.
The finished banana bread looks delicious and tastes just as good as if I would have used butter. I am super happy with this product and I would definitely buy it again!
The Best plant based alternative for cookies
I received a coupon to redeem a becel plant based brick (salted or unsalted) from chickadvisor for review purposes.
I prefer unsalted for baked goods so that you can control the flavour and outcome of the process. To be honest when I first heard about this product I knew I wanted to try it immediately. My household is vegan so I am always looking for an affordable butter substitute for baked goods. I've tried other brands before but they don't work the same way as the becel one does.
Firstly, it actually feels and looks like real butter. When you leave it in the countertop to soften for a few hours you can easily cream it for your baking needs.
Secondly it melts and bakes like butter. The first thing I wanted to test this stick with is chocolate chip cookies. Depending on the quality of the fat being used, sometimes the cookies don't come out flattened or chewy or the right consistency in general. This truly passed the test and have me cookies that could pass as non-vegan (check out my photo!)
The only thing negative I have to say is that it does use palm oil and since we know that sourcing palm oil is very detrimental to the environment, I would be purchasing this less as to not increase demand
Healthy Plant-Based butter good for baking, cooking and gen
Ever wonder there's a healthy version of butter for baking, cooking and general use? Must Try Becel Plant-based Bricks butter. You could use it to cook steaks, use it for baking cookies or just spread it on a toast, it's taste good and also good for your health.
Try this during this covid-19 to share with family.
Enjoy, stay safe and stay healthy.
Stick it to me
I will be the first to admit that I prefer (unsalted) butter for most applications that require solid fats. However, I occasionally use margarine for applications like cookie doughs, which I usually bake on a whim (eg to have more "justification" to have the oven on). The sticks are definitely convenient (easily measured, easily blended into ingredients).
The one thing that makes me NOT want to buy this product is the palm/palm kernel oil. While I understand this is a fat of choice for manufactures, and that it is a fat that solidifies at room temperature (lessening the need for hydrolization - which makes oils into trans-fats), I still try very hard to avoid products containing it for various reasons.
As I was getting this for free, I didn't pay close attention to the price, but know that it was somewhat high compared to other similar products, including butter.

Healthy replacement to butter
I received a coupon to purchase Becel Plant Based Brick. I used this to bake. I made banana bread and tea biscuits out of it my family tried these and could not tell the difference in taste from this and butter. The flavour and colour was the same. Me I found the banana bread a bit drier than normal but that is ok it is a moist recipe. Would totally recommend as a butter replacement. Price is higher than butter but most things that are healthy are typically anyway. #gotitfree will be buying this again.
