I'm actually not loving this mascara...

I'm kind of disappointed in this mascara. I found it to be way too clumpy and messy. It made my lashes look super messy and even with trying to take off the excess product I still didn't like the way it made my lashes. If you're into that chunky thick black lashes then go for it, but I prefer a subtle mascara that lengthens and doesn't thicken them too much. I definitely won't be buying this product in the future, but it's a great back up mascara.

I really wanted to love this mascara but it wasn't anything special. The formula is super liquidy and d the first time I tried it out was a disaster and I had to touch up so much of my other makeup because it got everywhere. I gave it another shot and the final result was much better; my lashes looked good and there wasn't as much product on me but I still ended up with mascara marks on my face from my lashes before they dried.

I didn't find the end result to be as dramatic or bold as I'd been hoping for especially from a product with a name like this one. I definitely don't think I'll be buying this one again as I've recently tried other formulas that are give me a much better result.

Long lasting but not my favourite effect on the lashes

I feel like while I love the staying power and pigmentation of this mascara, it's just not my favourite idk. It holds curl very well, doesn't flake or smudge, isn't a complete pain to remove. Yet it's still not my favourite as I tend to love a more full va va voom, false lash effect mascara. This one however gives you very long Wispie fanned out lashes with a nice dark root. A very eye opening effect I will really enjoy for minimal eye makeup days ! I also love the lid mechanism as it really feels like it shuts tightly and that makes it seem more high end.

Lancome talks a BIG game with this mascara.

I have to say, for a mascara that is calling itself Monsieur Big, I was actually expecting this tube to be more ridiculous. I hate when brands make SUPER big mascara tubes that don't neatly fit into purses or makeup bags, but this one, while definitely substantial, is quite light and easy to wield.

The problem with this mascara is that a little can go a long way, and a little too much can wreak havoc. It's a really wet mascara which doesn't usually work for me since I wear contacts about 50% of the time, and I find a wet mascara that takes awhile to dry can be my worst enemy, especially in the summer.

The small fibers do distribute the product nicely and it can really amp up a look, but I would definitely caution you to make sure it's completely dry before you walk away, and check periodically throughout the day. Good payoff, but it does require some attention.

I'm not sure if I'd purchase this again, it does feel like a luxe mascara but it is a bit more high maintenance as a mascara for somebody with contacts.

Not the best Lancome mascara

I really liked Lancome Hypnose mascara back in the day so I was very excited to try this one. I received it free from Chick Advisor to test. Lancome for those who are wondering is not cruelty free.

Lancôme Monsieur Big retails at 31CAD which is about average for mid range mascaras. The mascara promises to be big volume, long lasting, no flakes, no smudges and easy to apply. Lancome's website also says it is safe for sensitive skin, eye and those who wear contacts. I have tried the mascara with and without primer over the last couple days to get a full experience.

It definitely provides this as you can see from my picture. It definitely applies easily and adds volume. It doesn't particularly add to length and curl. I recommend for a more natural look to only apply 1 layer with primer. Adding more layers made things look a bit too spidery (also with primer) Overall I think for my personal preference even one layer makes my eyelashes look a bit too spidery.

I wouldn't say that this mascara is super long lasting. Throughout the day without primer I found that my bottom lash line disappeared. I didn't see flakes or smudges it just seemed to have come off. I will say with primer it was much better.However, if you have oily skin or watery eyes it doesn't hold for a 8-12 hr day. I wore glasses these test days just to make sure it's not me touching my eyes. I will say on the positive it did seem to last on the upper lashes all day even without a primer. So it was clearly due to my eyes watering or oily skin. So clearly it is not long lasting or waterproof for all skin types.

Over all this style lashes is not for me. I prefer something a bit more natural if i'm not wearing false lashes and that maybe my watery eye and oily skin is just too much to keep it on all day. I think for this price point there are much nicer mascaras.

Not the mascara for my lashes

I have thick straight lashes, and this mascara did not do much for me. The positive: it does give volume. The negative: wet formula doesn't keep lashes curled, clumpy.

My least favourite Lancôme mascara

I'm a huge fan of Lancôme mascaras and have been using different styles of their mascaras for years (currently using Hypnose Drama), but the new Monsieur Big Mascara pales in comparison to every other Lancôme mascara I've ever used. I didn't find it particularly useful at volumizing or lengthening my lashes, nor did it last all day long. I also found the tube and applicator to be quite bulky and uncomfortable to apply - but that could be because I'm used to their other mascaras with thinner and easier to use wands. I would recommend every other Lancôme mascara before this product.

Not A Fan

Usually I love mascaras that have huge wands however this mascara was a miss for me, I didn't like how it clumped up my lashes or how it kept smudging under my eyes, this gave some volume but not a huge amount and it didn't wear that long without smudging, my usual mascara is much nicer and less clumpy than this. But to end this on a positive the wand is great at coating your lower lashes and grabbing all of them

Je n'ai pas été éblouie par l'efficacité du mascara. Il est bien mais pas WOW! Pour le prix, je crois être capable de trouver un comparatif dans du plus bas de gamme.

Not worth it!!!!

First of all, It retails for $31, you're better off buying a $5 drug store mascara that does a better job!!!!
It would be pretty good if the wand wasn't as big as it is, it's difficult to control and manoeuvre, it's insanely running, it glides on well for sure BUT it's SO thick and SO heavy that it weights down lashes!! it has a scent but it isn't over powering..
It would be much better if the product wasn't as runny and had a wand similar to benefits ''they're real'' . I'm disappointed and definately wouldn't pay $31 for it, so I'm glad I was selected by chick-advisor and Lancome to product test it for free, Likely won't purchase it in the future.
