Just Average

#gift I received this product as a gift so I could review it. I love Lancôme, I use several of their products but never had any luck with their mascaras, and Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara is no different. The 12X the volume promise didn't pan out, and it barely lasted 8 hours before I had to reapply. The no smudging promise didn't deliver either, I had a slight raccoon eye barely 8 hours later. This mascara did increase lash volume quite a bit, but no more than the $10. mascara I've been using. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this mascara neither will I be buying it in the future.

Great drugstore mascara!

Got this mascara for free and enjoyed using it every day for a week, to test it out. Usually use a slightly more pricey mascara so I was pleased to see this one stood up to my go-to. It creates volum and doesn't lump easily.

If you like the spidery lash effect, you will love this mascara (Spidery lashes are from when the base of the eyelash is the same thickness as the tip of it). The Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara gives a very natural, barely-there look on the first coat, which is fantastic for those of you who love natural lashes, but any more than 1 coat will give you clumped up thick spidery lashes. Although I love the natural look that 1 coat gives you, I find that there are many other mascaras (high end and drugstore) that will give you the same look for cheaper.

With that being said, there is a way to get slightly more natural, but voluminous lashes, but it takes SO much work. I find that when I brush my lashes out with a clean mascara wand in between each coat, it does a great job of volumizing without clumps. I also need to re-curl my eyelashes after this mascara because it does weigh them down slightly.

So overall, I think this is a great mascara if you put in the work to make it good, but I would not recommend this to a friend because there are mascaras that give you the same effect without the extra effort.
