A new Twist to the good old Mahjong Game

Growing up in an Asian household, I was already exposed to the game of Mahjong at an early age. So when this opportunity came to test out a "Western" version of it, I decided to give it a try. First, the CONS- If you are use to playing the Asian version then this new version is going to confuse you tremendously. The rules are totally different, and the scoring is very confusing. It may help if the product was to include 4 credit card sized versions of the score card so each person can have it in front of them to help with strategy. The pros about the product are you can actually use it to play the original version, they're quite small in size so it makes it great for travel if you plan to take it to the cottage or a trip. They're made with pretty good quality but I'm not sure if the paint on it will hold up over time. I suspect it will fade over time. I think to help players with the game, the instructions should include a link with a video demonstration to help clarify things. Overall, a decent product but it will never compare to the original. I have included a picture of the product and compared it to the size of original Mahjong tiles.

Fun family game!

We played it as a family of four with older kids. They really enjoyed it. Easy to learn and fun for everyone. The tiles were really nice and clear instructions. I would recommend for older children.

Fun for the whole family

When I received the game was alittle like omg how do I play this. While the husband and I YouTube the instructions, had the kids watch them twice. It would be better with older kids.

Good for entire family

Got very excited when we got chosen participate in the FamilyRatedClub product review. We've tried this game right away!
High quality game, stones very smooth, pleasant to touch with unique Mahjong pictures. This is American mahjong(adopted) version and it's suitable for kids too. Suitable for 4 players at a time. If you're a little bit familiar with the game it's not a problem to pick up on the rules, otherwise instructions might be complicated. Overall, I would recommend that game for anyone, who enjoys table games!

Great quality game!

I was so surprised by the quality of the game itself! It came so neatly packed but once you unpack there's quite a lot of these beautiful white stone pieces to play! My husband, friends and I had never played before so it took some learning and practice but once you know, it's such a fun game to play!!

Mahjong a great card game

My children and I love mahjong. It’s game I grew up watching my parents and family play. It’s hard to learn but once we figured it out we love it. We played 5 rounds the first night.

Quality Mahjong Set

This Mahjong set is beautiful! The tiles are ornate and heavy. Good quality all around. We haven’t quite gotten the hang of playing it yet, but hopefully we will soon.

Fun Game

I was super ex it’s when I got selected to try this game for #Free and to give my honest opinion on this game. I was surprised at how heavy the game is. I opened it up and was amazed by what was inside I never had a game like this before so it was exciting. We took everything out of the box took the plastic of and read the instructions. My son and I played it for a couple hours, we had so much fun. It is t a hard game to learn to play and it keeps you entertained for hours. I was very happy that we got selected to try this game. We will be playing this during Christmas holidays for sure it will keep us busy.

Fun strategy game for quality family time

Mahjong is a fun game for 4 players. The tiles are well made and have the right amount of weight to it. Although this game is a traditional Chinese game, the tiles have numbers and a letter for the 4 directions in English for those who can't read the Chinese wording. Overall, this game is well made and the instructions are clear for first time mahjong players to understand and enjoy.

Beautiful Mahjong Set

We love this beautiful Mahjong set. The set comes in a nice compact box that has a very nice classic look. The tiles themselves are beautifully painted and have a nice feel to them during game play.
It was our first time playing Mahjong and we did find the instructions a bit hard to understand but a quick tutorial video got us on on track.
After a couple of rounds everyone was able to play well with my 15 year old taking the honour of game night champion.
We are looking forward to playing Mahjong again and would definitely recommend for families with older children or when friends are over.
