Not nueteogena loyal, wouldn’t buy

This gel cream has a very different texture. If you put your finger in the product it won’t leave an impression, it is quite gel-like. I am fairly sure that the product evaporated to less than 50% the original volume, I am not sure how. The product did not feel overly moisturizing and the next morning it did not feel overly hydrated. Wouldn’t buy but thankful to #tryitfree

A little too sticky for everyday use

Thank you Chickadvisor for the opportunity to try Neutrogena Bright Boost Overnight Recovery Gel Cream. The gel cream is oil-free, alcohol-free and non-comedogenic. It states that it can help to improve the look of skin tone & texture, reduces dull, and tired looking skin.

The gel cream has a light scent and the texture is very light and easy to apply. But it doesn’t absorb well, and feels heavier and sticky. A few hours after application, my skin felt a little oily. I think I would use it in the morning if I have to stay home all day as a heavy side of face cream.

Although I found that this product gave my skin a brighter boost, one of the ingredients contains Red 40 artificial colouring. One of the most dangerous artificial colourings and completely unnecessary to be soaking into anyone’s skin. It really makes me question whether this product is actually working, or dying my skin to create a brighter look. I would not recommend this product to anyone based on that alone.

Not for my skin type

I have combination skin with oily T zone. I read this is oil free so I expected light texture and fast absorbing. I applied thin layer but I didn't feel it absorbs to my skin. I massaged for few mins but the feeling of residual remained and felt I have another cover on my face. I fell a sleep and woke up, felt my face is much oily than usual. I washed my face right away and my skin started breaks out. I got bunch of blackheads on my nose, it made me to think that the cream cloaked my pores. I cleaned my face with pore brush and applied some cica cream and it eased the symptoms. I am afraid to try again. I gues it just doesnt work with my skin type.

Give it a try

I received this product as a sample. I applied this at night time, and have been using it for two weeks. It goes on easily, but its slightly sticky for a while. It also is heavily scented, almost like a perfume. I notice it when applying the cream, but the scent goes away quickly. I haven't noticed much brightening. It is worth a try, but I don't feel like it worked for me.

Doesn't make a difference in skin

Scent was too strong and I didn't feel that it improved my skin at all. I didn't see a great improvement in my skin when using this overnight. Consistency and ease of applying is good though.

Just not for me

The Neutrogena bright boost overnight recovery gel cream is in a nice package, has a strong but moderate scent but is not for me. I was selected for a trial of this product and during my time using it, it caused me more acne and oily skin then my normal routine, which is just washing my face with water. I would classify my skin as moderately sensitive, and at the starting point of aging. The bright boost did not seem to have any affect on my skin with even skin tone or looking more energized. When applying the film of cream it is soft and almost a velvet texture but the scent is heavy especially when you apply the cream around your nose, it tended to make me breathe heavier, washing it off or avoiding my nose seemed to help. I give this 2 stars because it simply is not for me. It doesn't mean that it may not work well for others. The routine is suppose to be used in conjunction with other bright boost creams/gels for a fully cleansing bedtime and wake up routine.

Beautiful packaging and smell, did not work for me

I was so excited to try the Neutrogena Bright Boost Overnight Recovery Gel Cream. The packaging and smell are beautiful. I noticed that when I started using this product that I was breaking out. I took a break and tried it again but my result was the same. I love my other Neutrogena products, especially my exfoliating face wash but unfortunately this product just didn't agree with my skin.

Does not absorb

I found this product to be a very thin gel texture, that doesn't quite absorb into the skin. Two hours after application, I could still feel it sitting on the skin and it was tacky. I could even feel it sticking to my pillowcase. It was also very heavily fragranced. I used it for a week and could see small bumps coming up into my skin and I got a few pimples (not sure if that was related), so I had to switch to a more "calming" product.

Smells great but may cause breakouts

I'll start with the good: This product smells SO good! I was really excited about it when I first opened it. I also liked that it absorbed into my skin quickly, as I really don't like when a product just sits on your skin all greasy-like. However after two weeks of using this product my skin has been breaking out like CRAZY :( I also didn't find my skin felt as soft and moisturized as it has with other Neutrogena products. Sadly would not use again.
