Not great, could be better
This predator iron supplement for children 0-3 years old is a ferrous sulfate oral solution that I received for free in exchange for my review. It is good in theory, but my toddler who is going to be 3 years old did not like it at all. The solution is lemon flavoured which smelled like cleaner. My toddler couldn’t stand the taste. The dropper included was great for measuring the dosage. It would be a great addition to my toddlers health if the flavour was different, maybe berry or vanilla.
My child does not like the taste.
I struggled to get my child to take this supplement. They cried after tasting it, and refused to take it again or let me feed them anything for a while after that. Would not recommend.
PediaFer™ Iron Supplement for babies age 0-3 years
My child didn't like the taste of the supplement and vomited after using the drops. We didn't risk trying this supplement again. It's a shame because it's a Canadian product and we were looking for an alternative to the American product.
Flavor is rough
We didn’t actually need PediaFer™ but we use other supplements, so we tried it once purely for fun. No clue if it works, but wow… that lemon flavor was rough. If taste matters to you, brace yourself.
Ewwwwwwwww
I received this product free to test and review with my daughter. It’s a good thing that I decided to try these drops before giving them to her because OMG the lemon flavour is absolutely disgusting. I have used iron drops before and I’m used to the bitter taste, but for some reason, adding the lemon made it 1000 times worse. I did not bother even trying to give them to her, because I know it would be a one and done event. To avoid the waist, I am trying to use them up by hiding it in some of the food and drink that I consume, but the burn in your sinuses reminds you that it is there.
Kid friendly.... Not!
My daughter hated the flavour. Also the recommended dose is two eye droppers and I couldn't get her to have more than half of one before she spit it out.
Taste is terrible :(
We are using PediaVit vitamin D supplement for a while and it's a brand that I trust. Unfortunately, this iron supplement tastes terrible. The lemon flavor couldn't hide the aftertaste typical in iron supplements. My child tasted it once and I haven't been able to give him more since then. He refuses to take it. Because he's only taken it once, I can't say anything about the effectiveness.
Effective but…
Pediafer iron supplement works well, but the taste was a big issue for us. Both of my kids really disliked the lemon flavour and had trouble taking it, even though the supplement itself seems effective.
Child did not like
I used PediaFer for my baby to help with iron intake, but unfortunately it didn’t work well for us. My child strongly disliked the taste and consistently refused it, which made daily dosing stressful. I also noticed it could stain if spilled, so giving it required extra care. While it may provide the iron some babies need, the taste and ease of use were major issues for our family, and we decided to look for a gentler alternative.
Consider for picky little ones
I tried PediaFer™ Iron Supplement for my son (age 0–3), and I appreciate that it’s suitable for young children and helps support red blood cell formation. The dosage is easy to give and can be mixed into food or drinks, which is very convenient. My son usually likes lemon-flavoured products, however this one has a noticeable iron aftertaste mixed with the lemon flavour, and unfortunately he didn’t like it this time. Overall, it’s a well-designed supplement, but the taste may be something to consider for picky little ones.
