Description

Visit our Sookie Stackhouse series feature page.

Sookie Stackhouse is just a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. Until the vampire of her dreams walks into her life-and one of her coworkers checks out....

Maybe having a vampire for a boyfriend isn't such a bright idea.

The first episode of True Blood series, I was hooked and went out and bought all the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I started reading the first novel and continued to read till the final book and that occupied my whole weekend. I was sad to see the series of novels end. I absolutely love these novels and I think I will read them again.

This is such a fun series to read and Sookie is hilarious. I love the character development in this series and sad that we didn't get to see so much of it in the HBO series. But the books are light and fun (and sometimes sad) but Sookie is such a strong character and I was sad to see the books come to an end.

I really enjoyed this series - much better than the t.v. show! The characters are better and more developed. They are funny and well written!

When the series first came out on tv, I thought I'd buy the books to see how they were. I thought they were great (maybe even better than the show), super easy to read, and extremely entertaining. The writing is not great and there are some "holes" in the story that are later explained in A Touch of Dead, but it's still a good series

Favorite series by far! enjoy the show as well, but love the fact that the books and the show are different! Newest book for the series just went on sale!

Okay, if you love True Blood, you'll understand why I decided to pick up this book series and give it a whirl!

While very different from the show (some of the characters have very different roles in the book than the show, and vice versa), Charlaine Harris' writing style keeps you intrigued and wanting to keep reading.

The books sell separately and in box sets, I purchased the box set with the first 8 books:

Dead Until Dark, Living Dead in Dallas, Club Dead, Dead to the World, Dead as a Doornail, Definately Dead, Altogether Dead and From Dead to Worse.

There are further books after the box set I've purchased, which I have not read yet, so I cannot vouch for those books, but if they are anything like the ones I've read so far, they are amazing.

You have to be open minded when reading this series, as it does involve alot of supernatural characters. There is some sexuality in the book, so young readers might not be ready for these.

Some people i have spoken to thoroughly enjoy the show, but dislike the bookset. I like both, so I suppose it depends on the readers personal opinion.

I believe if you are looking for something fun, adventurous and exciting to read, these are the books for you!
