Dystopian future where being surgically modified is “pretty”

“In a world of extreme beauty, anyone normal is ugly.”
If you are a dystopian buff, consider this series in your must reads. It is set in a future society where everyone is considered “ugly” until undergoing mandatory surgery to become “pretty” at age 16. The main character is exposed to the downsides of the conforming society by her new friends that have rejected the “normal” and go into the wild.

This is a 4 part series, but I would classify it as a trilogy and the fourth book as a spin off. This dystopian series was so enjoyable, I’ve read it twice so far!
