I've been here on 2 or 3 occasions and each time I wonder why I bothered coming back. Last weekend I came here with my husband because we were in the area walking by, and at just the right moment caught a whiff of garlic and tomatoes that made us decide we were hungry for lunch. I ordered the butternut ravioli with veggies, which our server informed us was the house specialty.

It was... not good. The ravioli was bland and could have been saved by the generous portion of chopped veggies served on top had those not been truly awful. The server assured me the veggies were fresh, but they tasted like the frozen kind you get from Green Giant, then heated in a pan with no seasoning. My husband suggested I request some balsamic vinegar on the side to help bring some flavour to it and that made it possible to eat it, however I did not enjoy it.

My husband's spicy red pepper pasta was much better, though still nothing I'd go back for.

The thing that irritates me the most about mediocre food is that there's no reason for it to taste that way. I cook a lot and it's pretty hard to make fresh veggies taste bad. Naturally they have a lot of their own delicious flavour and all it takes is a little bit of salt, pepper fresh garlic and olive oil to bring that out. I know Queens Pasta is a popular joint in the neighborhood, but it's not for me.
