I got this book from the author Carol Mason, a few days ago and really enjoyed it! The story is about 3 long time friends who are all married and struggling through different aspects of their relationships. Jill has a great relationship with her husband, Rob, but since they found out he can't have kids, he's been off sex and she is feeling desperately neglected. Wendy seems to have the perfect relationship, but all is not necessarily as it seems. Leigh is married to someone she does not respect and decides to have an affair, which she enjoys so much she brags about it to Jill.

Author Carol Mason described it as "Sex and the City" for marrieds, and it kind of is - but without the clothes. The book is published in 12 countries and 7 languages and has just been released in Canada. I was worried at first it would be one of those books that made affairs sound like a good thing, but it does not. I doubt there is any married woman who would not identify with this book on some level. It's very real and the characters feel very authentic.

The story is set in Newcastle so the expressions and dialog take a little getting used to, but once you do they're cute and often quite funny. I keep waiting for an opportunity to call someone a "wally".

The climax of the story is so gripping, I stayed up really late and couldn't go to bed until I knew what was going to happen. I'll admit I even cried at one point.

This is Carol Mason's first book and it won't be her last. It's really well written and the story lines are quite gripping. It's one of those stories you think about for some time after. I highly recommend it.
