Le Chateau - Toronto

Le Chateau has always been my staple store for accessories - in nearly every store, you can find at least one rack full of sale items, and you can stock up on really cute and interesting items to add some pep to your look. Accessories are the cheapest way to make an old outfit look new, and I'm always able to do that with Le Chat.

When it comes to their clothing, they've definitely upped the style factor in the last few years. I like how the store is stylistically separated into 'career', 'dressy', and 'streetwear' type areas, so it's easy to zero in on what you're looking for. I've received decent service from the sales reps, with some stores being better than others, but it's pretty much a self-serve store. Like one of the other chicks mentioned, they really need to upgrade their return policy. When you're in a recession, it's an ancient idea to not get your money back if you change your mind on a purchase...just my 2 cents!

I love love love Le Chateau. It's been around for quite a long time, and the store's style has really evolved! Le Chateau sells mens' and womens' clothes, with more of a focus on womens'. Probably one of my favourite stores for mens' fashion, though. My favourite part of the store is the shoes! In relation to other shoe stores, le Chateau shoes are quite affordable. Most pairs are anywhere between $40-$60, or generally anywhere from $10-$40 at the outlet. I would say this store is a dressy casual store, but more on the dressy side.

Their clothes are super expensive for the quality but they're really nice looking and classy. They have awesome shoes and accessories.

I'm sure many of you have noticed that the style and quality of clothing at Le Chateau has definitely gone up. A Ryerson fashion student told me that Le Chateau (based in Montreal) comes to the fashion school to recruit designers for their company (makes total sense!) I love the clothes here, they are so beautiful and trendy. The colours and styles are just gorgeous. They even have really nice cocktail dresses!

Although the clothes have gotten better, I am surprised that the return policy hasn't. They still do not allow refunds, it is only exchange or a store credit! I hope that this policy changes soon, because I'm sure that most retail companies have come to realize that customer satisfaction is key for any retail business to thrive. So if you want to buy something, make sure you really want it because you can't get your money back!
