I received this product as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. I had not used Micellar water previously and was curious as to whether it would be able to both remove makeup and cleanse my skin at the same time as it claims to. I found that it did an average job of removing my makeup (I don't wear a lot) but I did need to rub a fair amount to remove it all. The cotton pad then got all gunky and I felt I was just smearing this all over my face. While it didn't dry out my skin, I didn't feel that my skin was as fresh or clean as when I use a regular foaming cleanser and water. They claim that no rinsing is required but I feel like I want to rinse my face afterwards to get it really clean. At around $10 it is certainly economical and may work well when you are rushed or traveling, but I would not use it as part of my regular facial care routine.

Disclaimer: I received a full size Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water from Chick Advisor to review.

As of now (Feb.20) I haven't had a chance to even test the product. I got package slip on the 11th, and only got the time today to go pick it up. I'm not overly optimistic that this weird Micellar Water that everyone is raving about will actually clean skin, let alone remove makeup. Plus I do have a slightly negative view of Garnier in general because I used one of their hair dyes and it made my dandruff ten times worse. So I am hoping that this product will change my mind. I plan to give this a fair shot and hopefully the claims of improved skin within a week are true.

    Updated On: March 21, 2016

Update (March 21): I'm still unsure about this 'cleanser'. I feel like my skin really isn't clean after using it. It's not too bad to use in the morning, just to refresh my skin and I save my better cleansers for bedtime to get a proper clean after a day of pollution, makeup, sweat, etc. Others complain of an oily residue, but I don't find that at all. It leaves a watery film for a minute or so, but then evaporates or absorbs into the skin. And I apologize about my previous mention of this product claiming to improve skin, I was mixing it up with the other Garnier product I received. The Micellar Water packaging makes no such claims.

I would still recommend this product if you're the type of person who's too busy to clean your face before bed. Since you can just wipe this stuff on and not bother rinsing it off. I still feel like it doesn't give you a proper clean, especially if you're wearing waterproof makeup, but it's definitely better than nothing. It's also reasonably priced, which is always a plus.

I got this for free through the Product Review Club (which also came with the Garnier SkinActive Hydra-Gel moisturizer, blueberry jam tea, and a cup that says 'Wake Up Be Awesome Repeat')

I REALLY LIKE THIS PRODUCT - not because of what it is advertised to do (ie: remove make up off your face), but what I was able to do with it. I left make up stains in the collar area on my white shirt when I was changing and was really depressed that I couldn't seem to remove it. Being the science-y / nerdy person that I am, I knew micelles are part hydrophobic & part hydrophilic - making it a great detergent & cleaner. I TRIED IT ON MY SHIRT AND WOW !! It's almost like new ! (Not quite perfect, but it's not very noticeable if you never knew it was there)

In terms of the removing make up off your face ... I'm not too much of a fan. I think this is best for people who use light make up everyday (ie: just powder & eyeliner). I use liquid foundation everyday, and it took me 3 cotton swabs to remove 90% of it - and by the end of that, my face was pretty striped and red. The worst is with mascara. Never had any luck getting that off without a hard rub and leaving a big mess all around my eyes.

Overall, I wouldn't say I am a huge fan of the product. I already have a make up remover I prefer to use (Shu Uemura facial cleansing oil). I was VERY impressed with the size. It's a very generous bottle but I think this will only be great for cleaning off the mistakes you make with your eyeliner and removing those make up marks on your hand after a trip to Sephora.

I had never even heard about this product so I was quite excited to give it a try. The idea of just using this to clean my face and not have to bother with rinsing was very appealing. Sadly I do not feel that it worked as well as other cleansers or even my soap and water. I liked the feel and the fact that is was scent free however I do not feel it got my skin as clean and it was not effective on my mascara at all. As a quick cleanse throughout the day it was refreshing and fast but it couldn't replace my normal routine and at that price I will stick with soap and water

I've heard about micellar waters, so I was super excited to receive this as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club.
Unfortunately I didn’t like this product as much as I hoped. While it did appear to remove my face makeup and eyeshadow, it didn’t put a dent in my washable mascara. A week later I broke out under my jawline which is unusual for me.
However I did use it this morning to neatly tidy up some wayward mascara strokes with a cotton swap! Alas, I’ve found a use!

This is a good product that comes in a decent size bottle. It makes you feel fresh afterwards and removes all the make-up too. I'd recommend this product to someone who wants to try a cleansing make-up remover.

While I like this product as a makeup removed I do not like it as a cleanser. It is fragrance free which is nice, however just doesn't leave my skin feeling clean. I am a stay at home mom, so most days wear minimal makeup. It does a decent job at removing that (although I still have to work at the mascara a bit), but I still feel the need to wash my face after. Additionally, in the one week I have been using it I have experienced breakouts (which are uncharacteristic for my skin). Overall, I would recommend it maybe as a makeup remover but not as an overall cleanser.

The Micellar Water worked ok, but seemed to take a lot of time and I needed several cotton balls to remove my makeup. My face felt nice and clean once I was done, but it took a lot more time and effort than my usual cleansing wipes. I might use it to remove eye makeup more than anything since it did not irritate my eyes and did remove my mascara well. If you are use to washing your face with water then I recommend this product as it is easier than hanging out over the sink, but for me I think I will continue using my cleansing cloths which I find much more economical and easier for me.

I really do not see what the fuss over Micellar water is. It is just not anything special to me personally as I wear quite a bit of makeup and I like to wash my whole face and feel scrubbed right clean and it doesn't take off waterproof mascara which is my main requirement.

I think this is an unnecessary expense/step for me - I will not purchase this again. I need to bring in the artillery to clean my face!

I received this free from Chickadvisor and use it every nite to remove makeup. I do rinse it off even though it indicates No Rinse. I find it does remove makeup but I don't feel it working as a whole face wash. I think it would more beneficial for when travelling, to have a quick clean up and feel refreshed. If you were to use it morning and nite to wash face, you would be going through alot of it and it would be pretty costly.
