I at one time used this product for contact dermatitis which I sometimes get from my wedding band and other rings. I stopped using it after I came up with my own product as mine is better and far cheaper, not to mention loaded with nothing but active ingredients. Although that is the case, I DID like this cream very much when I used it some years ago.

Yes, it is somewhat heavy, but I know that it is quite effective and works quickly. Most hand creams do not, no matter what the brand is. The smell didn't bother me so much, which is surprising as I'm not a big fan of any synthetic scents in any skin care products. As somebody else said, it is available in an unscented version, so there is that option for those who can't tolerate the fragrance.

As for the price, I used to buy it when it's available around Xmas in those huge value packs, which really IS a great deal. The stuff lasts forever, so a value pack could potentially last for years - the other bonus being that it never separates or goes all liquidy even after an extended period of time in the cupboard - not to mention the fact that you get the hand, body, etc products all in one package.

Overall, if I didn't have my own product which I make for my dermatitis, I would more than likely use this one before reaching for another brand. It's effective, goes a long way, can be gotten in great value packs and works quickly.

I heard alot of good things about Glysomed's effectiveness for dry skin. I gave this product a try, and my oh my was it expensive! I was used to paying maybe 3-5 dollars per bottle, but this one I paid almost $7CAD for!

First of all, upon application, it felt like a plastic overcoat on my skin, and didn't feel like it was absorbing. It wasn't greasy, thank god, but definitely too thick.

second, I could feel the lotion on me even an hour after i applied it! It didn't feel like my skin was getting moisturized, but continued to stay dry, but with an overcoat of that plastic feel on top

Maybe it was the scent that gave me a feeling that this product wouldn't be for me. I always like to have a nice scent, or unscented lotion for myself, but glysomed had somewhat of a (yet again) plastic smell to it, that I did NOT enjoy.

However, I have heard many people say how amazing this product is, and how effective the lotion is on their skin. Maybe this product just isn't for me?

I have pretty sever eczema and I pretty much have to live with it. It's all over the top portion of my palms and down my fingers, it's unsightly. Itchy. DRY oh so DRY.

SO! I use a special cream to help with irritation, but my skin is ridiculously DRY to the point that I sometimes can't bend my fingers. I love this cream though, it's saved my hands!

It's a little greasy, but it holds that moisture in that way. You can buy unscented (but it's not a bad smell!), which I don't bother with and it comes in a variety of sizes. I've seen it priced as low as 3 dollars and at Christmas you can buy the gift set at a great price and get all the sizes.

It's a great thick cream, absorbs within 5 min, and you feel the difference instantly. Your hands are SO soft and it really helps me with the eczema.

    Glysomed is some good stuff...
I've used this a few times before and it's one of the only hand creams that gives you instant results. In the winter my knuckles get so dry they crack sometimes, but using this totally fixes it right away.
This time I bought the FRAGRANCE FREE version, and it is just as great as the regular.
Glysomed can be a tad bit greasy feeling, but I'm willing to live with that, since it works sooo well.
The price is awesome, too, and you can buy 50mL bottles that are perfect for keeping in your purse. Definitely will keep buying this and recommending it to the few people I know who haven't tried it yet!

I have been using this hand cream for years and years and it's the best I've ever used. I have tried others, but I always come back to Glysomed. I usually buy it at Christmas time (for myself) because you can get some really nice gift sets at a fair price. My hands stay moisturized for hours (I have extremely dry skin) and makes my skin silky smooth. Love it!!

This product was recommended to my by a nurse friend who has to wash her hands very often to prevent the spread of infection. Hands can get very dry when you're constantly washing them. I tried Glysomed and was pleased. It does a very effective job for the price and is easily found at drugstores. It has no perfume in it so it's mild and nonirritating. I highly recommend it as a great standby to keep in your purse, by the sink or on your desk.

The glysomed creams are great! They moisturize well, but have a thick texture. I prefer using the body lotion because it isn't quite so thick and absorbs faster, but that's just my opinion. The smell isn't too bad, but just to say, don't use it in a moving vehicle. One time I put some on in the car and it was really nauseating. But totally worth the buy if you don't get car sick so often like me.

I know some people swear by this product, but I can't stand it. I find the smell to be too strong and the scent bothers me (it smells to me like a mix of chemicals and extracts). Also, the consistency makes my hands greasy. This product gets two thumbs-down from me. :(

I love this! It feels great on and absorbs well.
I've tried so many other hand creams and this one just takes the cake. If you happen to wash your hands, there's no gunky feeling - HOORAY! Finally, I think I've found my HG hand cream.
