I had Great Value Buttermilk Pancakes for breakfast this morning. I usually make homemade pancakes or use Aunt Jemima pancake mix but the other day when I was at Walmart I seen this brand for less than 2.00$ a box and thought I would give it a try.

I followed the directions on the box. Although the batter was really thick I wanted to cook them exactly as directed, so I warmed the griddle and ladled some out. I find most pancake batters usually start to bubble on the top when they are ready to be flipped but these ones didn't so I used common sense and turned them after a few minutes . Once they were cooked I poured some syrup on them and breakfast was served.

I did find them a bit too fluffy for my liking. I personally prefer a more thin, crepe like pancake. I also find the Aunt Jemima pancake mix has a better taste and texture. I might try them again but add a little more water and see if that works them a bit thinner.

The one thing I love about these instant pancake mixes is they make a fast and easy breakfast! If you want you can add fruits or Chocolate chips to the mix to alter the taste and you can top them with almost anything you want.

After trying lots of different brands, this is now our go-to pancake mix. It's cheap and tasty. I like to add cinnamon and fresh fruit like apples or blueberries (frozen fruit works, too). We usually have these once a week.
