Perfect as a base coat, bad as a top coat

I do my own nails, and my manicure's longevity is of utmost importance. This product works well as a base coat - it protects my nails well from any sort of damage; however, as a top coat, it does not fare well. My polish chips a few days in, which is a sign of poor performance. That's why I would not buy it again.

I have always had pretty weak nails but after using this on just plain unpainted nails they're long and strong! It just add a subtle shine to your nails if you use it as just a clear coat which is great if you dont wan't to have to worry about constantly painting to keep up with chipping (or if youre not supposed to wear nail polish to work cause you cant tell its there unless you really look) but still keep your nails looking nice and healthy!

I find this tries to do two things at once and does them both in mediocrity. I find after I use this, my nails stay wet for a very long time and dry quite bubbly, even if the polish underneath is quite dry. I'd say this is a case where you need two separate products.

I've been using this one for years now and I really like it. I have tried different brands but always go back to Sally Hansen.
