I cannot say ENOUGH about Nutella!!! YUMMMMYY!!! I could eat a jar everyday if I let myself! ahahaha. What I usually do myself which is so tasty and a healthier alternative is : I take a tortilla shell, smear Nutella all over the shell, and cut up bananas and place them on top. I roll it up like a burrito, pop it into the microwave for a few seconds to warm the chocolate and ENJOY!! It almost resembles a crepe of some kind :)
Nutella is a excellent spread this time of year just perfect to make Christmas yuletide logs(rolls)here is a great recipe:
1 1/4C. ground hazelnuts
6 eggs
3/4 C sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. Baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
11/2 C Whip Cream
1/4 C. sifted icing sugar
Nutella hazelnut spread
Grease 15x10 cookie sheet. Line with parchment paper and grease again.
Heat oven to 350'
Using a mixer, beat sugar and egg yolks on high speed for 5 minutes.
Beat in extracts. Beat one more minute.
In separate bowl add ground hazelnuts, baking powder, and salt - mix well with fork.
Combine hazelnut mixture with sugar mixture. Beat for 2 more minutes.
Beat egg whites till stiff, but not dry.
Fold egg whites into the cake batter by hand.
Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 20 -25 minutes.
Flip cake onto damp cold tea towel, sprinkled with icing sugar, to prevent the cake from sticking.
Remove the parchment paper.
Roll the cake up in the towel; let cool for 15-30 minutes.
Unroll and trim off crusty edges if necessary.
Spread with a layer of Nutella.
Then add a layer of whipped cream. I add a stabilizer to the whipped cream. It should be stiffly whipped, otherwise it is too difficult to roll up.
Roll up the cake once more and garnish with additional cream and hazelnuts.
Freeze the hazelnut roll on a cookie sheet for several hours until hard; then wrap with plastic wrap and seal it in a plastic bag. .
LOVED this from when I was a kid to now. Its not allowed in the house because all I need to eat it with is a spoon. I used to love spreading it inside ice cream cones. Look... whats not to love... its the filling of ferrero roche chocolates. Its a great hit of chocolate for a snack... simply on bread its amazing. But used to complement desserts as a drizzle, fondue, or even to do a fancy garnish on dessert plates, its fab. Its only downside is its utter test of my willpower!
I started eating Nutella about a year ago. I got addicted. This was the best thing to eat in the morning. It was filling and sweet and I started to overeat. That is my fault so I made sure that I minded my portions. If you look at the quantity of calories that there are in a serving compared to peanut butter and that crappy caramel spread. They are about the same but I noticed that all the members of my family was putting it on thick. I banned it in the house and will only purchase it on special occasions.... Christmas is coming... and Nutella will make an appearance! Eat wisely :)
LOOOVE this and so do my kids, I don't even feel guilty giving it to them because it's "somewhat" good for them!
My son loves this he eats it in the morning on toast i have a hart time finding things he will eat and this one is a keeper and the price is amazing!
Yummy for a snack or breakfast! Heck I even know someone who used it as iciing on a cake!
I like the taste of this product but it's a bit too expensive. I found no name brands like this for cheaper and tasted just as good so I opted for the other brand. If this is on sale get it, if not find something cheaper, it'll still be as good.
